Hello Gwynnyd, This was a lovely and poignant tale. The description of Arwen's end in the Appendices, couched as it is in language like a chronicle, is spare and needs filling out. You have done so admirably. There are two scenes I especially love. One is Arwen's remembrances of Aragorn's words about the worth of all things in Arda to their Creator. The other, echoing that scene, contains these words: “If no soul is squandered - not his, not mine, not yours – then this is only a parting for a time, and your fate too is entwined with ours.” If the Eldar were real, I would definitely desire that. Blessings, Alassiel Author Reply: Thank you. I have to admit that the 'squandered souls' phrase is right out of Kipling - from "The Sack of The Gods" that I quoted at the begining - but it suits so perfectly, I had to borrow it. I do prefer to borrow from the best! ;-) I would like to believe that Arda Healed is real also. Gwynnyd | |
