What a delightful gift for us to receive, Shirebound, and for the teaching of memories. So, the Three and their bearers are honored--so much more desirable than what happened with the Nine and the Seven--much less the One. Well and good, of course! Heh! Author Reply: Thank you, Larner. It's such a delight to have folks with whom to *share* hobbity gifts.

This is perfect! Even now you can find canes with blue, green and even plain white but not all mixed together. I know I won't look at them the same. It has been a while since I put canes on the tree, might have to change that. :-) Author Reply: Thank you so much. We've been surrounded by Elvish treats all this time, and never knew it! :D

Jolly and joyful . . . that's our wee hobbits! This is sweet, and you're so very good with sweet stories. Thank you for sharing the warm glow! Author Reply: Thank you, Pearl. I do love 'sweet', especially when hobbits are involved. :D

Aw this is so sweet! (Pun intended!) It makes me wonder how the third colour got dropped? Perhaps when the third ring passed to a certain Wizard? And it reminds me of the many songs we sing at this season with meanings forgotten by the majority. E.g. the twelve days of Christmas. Author Reply: Glad you enjoyed! Yes, there are so many traditions whose origins are growing lost to time. It's fun to imagine Gandalf seeing where this Elvish 'invention' has ended up, and its enjoyment by the hobbits.
