This is lovely. It shows such strength, foresight, and self-sacrifice on the part of Galadriel.

Lovley A/A as seen through Galadriel's eyes. It must have thrilled him when she pinned the Elfstone brooch on him. I guess I count as part of almost everybody, and I certainly adore Aragorn, as you well know!

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. As you know, I adore Aragorn too !I'm pleased you enjoyed it.I think being given the Elfstone was a key moment in ARagorn's life.

Yes, one side loses, yet in the end all gain, including those who gave the sacrifice needed.

And so Denny unknowingly unleashes a thousand and one AU "Faramir goes to Imladris instead of Boromir" fanfics upon an unsuspecting world!

I hope poor Tolkien isn't spinning in his grave at all the AU stories on this theme !

Very good indeed, and I liked your referencing of Elros, most fic writers stick with Elrond's grief over losing Celebrian when it comes to Arwen and her choice, and completely ignore that he had a beloved brother whom he also lost.

I think Tolkien recognised the importance of all the different kinds of loving relationships, including brothers.

Loved this on your LJ and very glad to see it published here Linda. I like Elrond featuring.

I admit I found Elrond very hard to write and was on the verge of giving up, bur Raksha kindly helped me.The There and Back challenge was great fun in inspiring me to write about different characters.

Oh, such a wonderful look at why Denethor made the choice he did.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.

Raksha and I have often discussed Denethor's choice, which gave methe idea.I'm so pleased you enjoyed this.

LarnerReviewed Chapter: 1 on 12/26/2006
Wonderful logic here, Linda. Yes, how can he deny his daughter the choice made by his brother? You and Raksha have done very well.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.

I immediately linked Arwen's choice with Elros' but then got stuck and Raksha came to my rescue.I'm so pleased you enjoyed this.

A good summation of some of Denethor's misgivings; showing his fundamental preference for his older son much to his younger son's detriment. And yet, if Denethor had sent Faramir to Imladris, both his children might have survived the Ring War (sadly, the reverse is also true).

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated and very first review of this collection ! I feel that Faramir would have resisted the rIng unlike his brother had he gone on the mission.
I'm pretty sure you gave me the idea for this one, though it was months ago.
