White Shores  by Gentle Hobbit 13 Review(s)

I love stories of Frodo in the Undying Lands. Each person, as you say, has a very different take. I can see is that your Frodo has a lot of healing to do just to adjust. I think having Celebrian help him is wonderful. (Also, it makes me happy to think of her reunion with her loved ones, although her pain at realizing that she will see none of her children again must be agonizing.)

Author Reply: Frodo certainly has a lot of healing ahead of him and not in ways that he expects. Celebrian is very much a kindred spirit, I think.

I've enjoyed your stories before and I'm delighted I get to read this one from the very beginning!

You write Frodo with such respect; his feelings come across as very real, and in character. I truly think Tolkien would approve.

And I love your portrayal of Celebrian; very wise. She seems to understand Frodo very well, and I hope he takes her advice to heart. Yes, he must build a house, more than physically.

I can't wait to see this continued!
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Thank you very much for your kind words. Both my response to you and the second chapter have taken a while to appear; however, I hope you will continue to enjoy the story.

"I did not know who I was here," Celebrķan mused. "I had not come willingly, and I did not know this place. It was the Final Refuge, and it promised me healing, but I was alone. And I did not know who I was."

"As I do not," Frodo said then and he raised his head. "Everyone has names for me: Ring-bearer; Iorhael they called me on the ship. But I don't know who I am any more. Everyone else seems to know, but I have lost myself."

"And so," said Celebrķan, "you must find yourself again.

Oh my, this seems the beginning of a very Grand Tale. As you know, I'm most fascinated by Frodo's life in the West, canon or AU, as long as there's a chance of a happy ending (hope hope). :D

Author Reply: I don't know if it will be a Grand Tale, but I certainly hope there's a chance for a happy ending. :)
