Interesting that Aragorn first sees Faramir as a rival, much as Denethor had seen him. So glad he overcame the urge to let him go. Much the better person for doing so.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I think that Aragorn's generous heart is what most makes him differ from Denethor.

Ah, the sheer banality of which evil is capable! Heh!

A wonderful means of meeting the challenge, and so likely on both sides. Lovely.

A lesser man than Aragorn might have let his rival, already so close to death, slip away, thereby helping to assure that his claim to Gondor's crown would meet scant opposition. Luckily, Aragorn was no ordinary man; and could rise above such pettiness.

Well-written look at a crucial moment in the history of Gondor.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review, my first for this drabble.I think this the moment Aragorn proves his quality, like Faramir does in resisting the Ring.

Excellent and very amusing drabble - who knew that Sauron had a sense of humor! He does, I suppose, as long as he laughs last. Poor Denethor's not laughing at all.

What's next in Sauron's bag of tricks - whoopie cushions on the Nazgul's saddles?

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm pleased you like this as you inspired it. You'll have me getting more ideas for drabbles!

Faramir is a wise steward indeed. I couldn't agree with him more

Aragorn would have to occasionally think of what Arwen gave up for his sake - good thing Faramir is there to help him balance that equation.

Nice drabble!

It is so hard to not feal guilty some time in our lives. However, feeling guilty over someone else's decision seems to be rampant in human hearts. We have enough to feel guilty over without adding someone elses decisions to our own. Acquittal is a good title...a great title. Love, Neilia

Author Reply: Thank you, I'm pleased you felt Aragorn's emotions were true to life. What you say is so true !

I love Faramir's wisdom, and that Aragorn has a close friend in which to confide his hidden fears.

Author Reply: Thank you. I feel Aragorn badly needs a good friend and Faramir is perfect for him!
