YAY A NEW CHAPTER!! I feel so bad for Pippin because he's got to deal with this sickness, and I mean what are the other hobbits gonna do around him? there not really gonna know what to do. I have to keep reverting to what was going on in ROTK cause I'm reading FOTR right now for my LOTR book club, so I am like having to think on my fingers and back track and such... cause I read ROTK eariler this year. I really want to just go right into the story and glomp the living day lights out of Pip. Merry too for that matter. which fingers are the ones that Pip can't use? is it his Index finger and Middle finger or his ring finger and pinky finger? I am always trying to figure that out. I know it's on the right had, but I'm always like "Well if it's these two fingers then this shouldn't be too difficult....."

I never realized until now that all the fingers have names.....

Author Reply: Hi Pippinsgirl :-)

we're glad you are so happy to have a new chapter. It *will* be interesting to see how other hobbits respond to Pippin.

Pippin's pinky and ring fingers do not work at all and his middle finger is weak. His thumb and index finger are fine.

A very nice chapter. There is a sense of peacefulness about it, in spite of the subject matter. I'm glad Pippin is giving Elrond the chance to show his "kind as summer" side--I'm certain he'd been so intimidated by him, and perhaps there was a bit of holdover from Elrond's early opposition to his taking part in the Quest--but now he can see that there's more to the Elf Lord than that.

Author Reply: Thank you so much Dreamflower :-) I like having Elrond and Pippin find a peace between them and am glad you enjoyed it as well.

What a fascinating and insightful chapter. Pippin's talks with Elladan and Elrond are wonderful, and I'm so glad they've reached Rivendell at last.

Shyly, yet eagerly he asked, “Do you really think I play well, Lord Elrond?”

“It is one amongst many things which you do well, Peregrin Took."

Awwwww.

Author Reply: Thank you m'dear mentor! Golden and I are glad they have made it to Rivendell as well.

Oh, this was a marvelous chapter. The aftermath of Pippin's fit/vision and the hobbits' conversation was so true to the characters.

The harp lessons were so beautiful. And Eledan's understanding of Pippin's feelings was just right.

I have to say that I actually think I like the idea of Elrond becoming a mentor to Pippin.

The only sad thing is knowing that Pip will so soon lose both his dear mentors, Gandalf and Elrond. (sigh)

Great job. Looking forward to what comes next.

Author Reply: Thank you so very much Garnet! Yes, both mentors will eventually be gone but he will hopefully be ready to handle things himself by then. So glad you enjoyed the harp lessons.
