A wonderful marvelous insightful story!! I love it to bits and pieces! (Well worth it's weight in gold! What do 2,811 words weigh?) Author Reply: I will weigh my answer careful here as I don't want to misjudge this very weighty situation. I think that this story, including prologue, weighs in at just under forty pounds. You can quote me on that! Alas, since I wrote a disclaimer for this story I won't be able to accept the gold. LOL

Bravo! Bravo!! Bravisimo!!! This is worth it's weight in gold!! (I wonder how much 93 words weigh? Hmmm?) Author Reply: I think I was hearing the voice of Dr. Seuss at the time. All of my poems wind up sounding like Dr. Seuss. I think I read his books too often as a child. It's left a mark on me. hehehe If you break them down into letters then I suspect that the weigh-in will take some time to complete. After all, I suspect that the word 'To' doesn't weigh nearly as much as the word 'Mississippi' don't you?

I just cannot resist a GW prologue, even when I have no time to read... here's another going on my summer reading list. I put them in my story cause I like them and they're small. Ain't it the truth! Author Reply: I may just have to use the poem as my standard disclaimer. It seems to be going over quite well. Enjoy your summer!

Oh, I really like this story! How like that solemn little hobbit to go about this so logically, and to stick so determinedly to his project! I can just see his annoyance when he's discovered--a wonderful, steady portrait of the little Magnificent! And what a nice dad he had. Thanks for a lovely morning read. :) Author Reply: You are most welcome. I am very glad you enjoyed it. I am rather attached to Saradoc for some reason and he finds his way into more than a few of my stories.

He found that if he performed his daily tasks as the Master of Buckland as if Merry might be watching him that he took extra care and considered things more thoroughly. Years later this lesson served him well. He never did anything that he wouldn’t want Merry to see. That's just wonderful, GW. A valuable lesson for all of us! Author Reply: I think that is one of the things that parents have to consider. If you have children then they are probably taking note of everything you do, especially if it's something you wouldn't want them to see! LOL

I love your prologues GW - Maybe all disclaimers should be done in verse or perhaps the Authors subjected to a curse. Stoned by all the Hobbits, beheaded by the Dwarves; if profit made or given or coin to line your purse. Author Reply: Very well said! Perhaps you should use that as your prologue sometime. We simply have to try and make these things more entertaining. LOL

I, too, would find it unnerving to have a shadow but it would certainly make me watch my words! Great stuff GW! Author Reply: And a shadow that wouldn't explain why he was following you would be twice as annoying. Thank you for the review!

*snicker* I think this is one of the best disclaimers I've ever read! Author Reply: Why thank you! It makes me proud to be able to claim this disclaimer as my own and I may just use it again as it is getting better reviews than my stories do! hehehe

Oh, GW, this was beautifully perfect! Of course, I had a general idea of what Merry was up to, but not that he was up to it so *literally*! LOL! And I wasn't a bit surprised to learn it was because of Frodo's advice. What I loved best about this is the lesson *Saradoc* learned. He was already a very good Master of Buckland, but now he would become an even greater one, because he would never want to let his son down, or accidentally "teach" him something that he should not. I wonder what would happen if Merry ever gave the same advice to Pippin... Author Reply: LOL I was thinking of how impulsive Pippin can be and I decided that if anyone were watching Pippin then Pip will still do whatever came to mind first! The lesson that Saradoc learned in this case would be lost on Pippin completely. LOL As to if Pippin would follow Paladin about, I don't know. If he did then I don't think it would last nearly as long because Pippin would probably confess instantly what he was doing the very first time his father caught him! Thanks for reading!
