I am working on the next chapter - but it has been one of the more difficult ones that I just want to work. It has a bit more to go - including the scenes from Weathertop - which are a real challenge. | Oh, July, I so much read this one! My goodness! Well, - I always marvel at your stamina to write this long in one chapter. If this were my fic, I could split it into 5 or 6 chaps! - The part in the river is so thrilling! I was on the edge of my seat and that's true! - I was touched you inserted the part where Frodo remembered his parents when he was drowning. So sad. Poor Frodo. - And Bill Ferny? What an evil man! Well, I don't know if you decide to focus or extend the part of Frodo with the man or you'd prefer Frodo to vanish. I'll follow wherever you lead the story... I'm so enjoying this - well, you know, I enjoy angst stories. And this one is amazing! Author Reply: Hello Iorhael, You don't know how much you just made my day with your review. Thank you so much for the kind words. Actually you would kick me to know that this particular chapter has been written since June but my Beta was away for a considerable time - she has done her usual outstanding job of making sure my tangled up words make sense. The second part to Frodo and the Ruffian was actually written a long time ago - I just ended this chapter with the first half. I had a different idea about Frodo and the ring and by the time I finished this chapter I had changed it again - so now I have to do it different. Bill Ferny wasn't a cast member until I was almost finished - he was previously just known as the "Ruffian" who grabs Frodo. But we will see him return later as I intend to write the Scouring of the Shire at some point and will include him and Mr Goatleaf as key characters in those chapters. As for the river scene - that actually comes from a story of mine from another fandom I wrote almost 3 years ago - I changed the setting and the names, but basically the same - especially the white shirt being caught on the tree branch. Please keep reading - it takes a while to get it all together and although this story may have only two chapters to go - they are very pivotal to the story line or later and Weathertop and onto Rivendell are a challenge all of their own. Lots of changes in mind - but will have to wait and see how they sound on the page. Thanks so much for reviewing - hopefully the next chapter will be ready as soon as I can. The road is about to change somewhat from the books and the movie in the next chapter. There will still be elements of both but lots of new scenes and additions to keep everyone intrigued.
