Balrog's Balls!  by Jay of Lasgalen 20 Review(s)

Oh, yes--where do they learn them, if not from us? Heh!

Author Reply: Glorfindel and Elrond should *both* know better than use expressions like that when the twins are around!

Very cute. :) A mother's work is never done... *sigh*

Author Reply: Poor Celebrķan - she never will stop Elrohir saying that!

ROTFL! I was originally going to say poor Elrohir but when I got to the end I couldn't decide if I should say poor Elrond or poor Celebrian! That was hilarious, Jay.

Author Reply: I think it's 'poor Celebrķan'. As if the twins weren't bad enough, now she needs to have Words with Elrond :>)

Greetings! A friend and I are almost rolling on the floor! That was cute, and oh so true of children. I can imagine the elves developed some very interesting expressions, though I never would have thought of that one. Shame on Glorfindel for using language such as that around young, innocent, impressionable children! Someone ought to make him write lines or clean his room for punishment! But their father is little better, as we saw. This was well written, and certainly worth the read!!

Author Reply: Thanks - I'm glad you enjoyed this!

Elrohir has used the expression several times in other stories, and I decided it was time to find out where he learnt it - and the reaction when he first said it in his parents' hearing.

Elrond's words at the end quite surprised me, but I'm glad he appeared!

Jay! Wonderful story, but then all your stories are great!

Poor Elrohir! He knows he's not supposed to say some things, yet out of his mouth they come! Thank goodness Celebrian has a sense of humor!

And then in comes Elrond and what does he do? At least it wasn't as bad as what Glorfindel says! *snicker*

Any plans for another story of our three favorite young elves? Either in Mirkwood or Imladris? I hope so!

Author Reply: Poor Celebrķan - she needs a sense of humour with the twins - and Glorfindel!

I won't let myself think about a new story until I finish the two I already have! *sigh*

Poor Glorfindel. He gets blamed for everything. *grin* First the twins with "balrog's balls" and then in my story "Tad Edhel a Firion" he is blamed when little Arwen screams "Pweenorch" (Pui-en-orch, 'orc-spit') in public. Someone should wash that elf's mouth with soap. And I could just see Celebrķan's expression when Elrond comes in and says what he says. Priceless.

Glorfindel doesn't mean to be a bad influence on the twins - it just happens that way :>)

I've not read your story - I'll go and find it. Orc spit, huh?

That's a perfect ending - it made me laugh! Poor Celebrian, having to deal with three children :)

Author Reply: Thanks, Nic!

Poor Celebrķan - it can't have been easy to keep a straight face while telling Elrohir (and Elrond) off!

Very funny, Jay. When my kid was just learning to read, he read road signs to me while I was driving. We passed a movie house showing "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" and he hesitantly read "The... Best... Little... I don't know that word."

LOL. Being the liberal mom I am, I said "whorehouse." He echoed "horrorhouse" and went on.

Author Reply: LOL! What would you have done if he did know the word?

ArmarielReviewed Chapter: 1 on 8/13/2007
Well! How could I not read a story with THAT title?? LOLOL Very cute! Gee, Glorfindel, who'd 'a thought it?

How could I give the story any other title? Glorfindel - well, he's to blame for most of the twins' misadventures actually - though he'd never admit it!

ROTFL!! Brilliant. Poor Elrohir. It really is all Glorfindel's fault...

And I love the ending. Now how do they explain this to a bewildered Elrond?

Author Reply: Poor Glorfindel seems to get the blame all the time, doesn't he? And now Elrond had taught his sons another unfortunate expression :>)
