Poor lad--growing up can be so bothersome! At least he's now willing to talk to Frodo!

Author Reply: Yes, and I think that will prove to be a very interesting conversation!

My prescient dreams started when I was still a child, mostly just wisps of conversations.

I appreciate what Frodo says of it being a responsibility. Too bad Pippin isn't ready yet to accept it.

Author Reply: I think Frodo will help him to do so, in time. Thanks so much for your comments!

Dear cathleen,

I've been following this story from the beginning on, and I think it's getting more and more interesting with every new posted chapter.

Pippin is growing up and that would be confusing enough for a lad, may he be hobbit or mankind. But that's not all. The "Took Sight" is also awakening and disturbing his dreams.

Maybe the talk with his father will help Pippin to understand some things better, but I would say that a visit to Bag End and a talk with Frodo would be much better!

I'm looking forward to reading more!

Author Reply: Andrea, I want to thank you so much for continuing to read my stories and comment on them. I'm very pleased to hear you're enjoying this. I'm having fun writing it! More soon, most definitely!!

The contrast between the two pairs of eyes couldn't be greater. And the foreshadowing does appear to be remarkably murky.

Poor lad--doesn't understand it himself, so how's he to explain to others? Heh!

Author Reply: Thanks Larner! Pippin's self-discovery is the best part of this journey!

I think the dream images are even more vivid than I remember them from my earlier reading of this chapter, Cathleen. Poor Pippin, trying to deal with that kind of prescient dream. Balrog, Denethor's hands withering in the flames, and looking into the Palantir all seem to be represented here, as well, perhaps, as the burning in the lower levels of the city.

Author Reply: And there will be more foreshadowing as we go. Thank you, I'm glad they came through as vivid. It was fun to think about all the things to come and then write about them.

I just read this story again and still love it. I did not find Pip too young before, but that age is alright too. I hope you continue soon, cause I really wanna know how it goes on with Pipīs Took sight and all. So please post a new Chapter soon.
Also I hope you get some more reviews for your story and wonder about why you havnīt yet.
There surly is some sexuality inside the story, but I personally like it, when also the "innocent" Hobbits are allowed to discover things like that. And you write it very realistic.
Well, not that I know how it feels to be a growing up lad.. *L*...but I think, what you write sounds realistic.
And of the Took Sight I am fond anyway. I hope we get also to meet Aunty Pringle again. So donīt wait too long with the next Chapter! :)

Author Reply: Hi Golden! I'm so glad to hear you like the bit of a rewrite I've done, and are still enjoying the story. Yes, I think it's pretty cool myself to get a peek inside a young, "seemingly so innocent all the time" hobbit lad's mind and experience the other things that might be going on. Heh, after all, Pippin *did* have a son, so he must have learned about the birds and bees somewhere along the way, right?! The Tookish "Sight" has always intrigued me too, and I know I'm going to have great fun exploring it as this story moves along.

As for the whole review thing you and Pearl have mentioned...yeah, as writers we all know how motivating they can be, and how much fun to read, as well as the tidbits of ideas from readers that may be used in forwarding the story. But, even though it would be *very* nice to hear what other readers are thinking, I am still gratified by the substantial amount of hits this story has received - not only for the first go round, but even more so for the second! Ah well! The main thing for me is knowing that I believe in this tale and will continue it through to the end. I want to find out what's going to happen as much as you do!! And thank you again for inspiring it, and for your continued support, both mean a great deal to me.

Wow!!

Very powerful chapter Cathleen! This packs a much stronger punch than it did before, so the rewrite was well worth the effort.

I can't imagine why no one else has commented as this is a fantastic beginning chapter.

I'm off to read the rest :-)

Author Reply: Thanks, Pearl! Your support as always, is so much appreciated. I *am* rather pleased with the way this story is coming along and although I've experienced a bit of a delay lately due to illness and other matters, I hope to get it rolling swiftly again, and soon. I'm very pleased of course, to know that you're still reading and enjoying it - thank you for taking a moment to let me know!
