The Farewell in Gondor  by Larner 14 Review(s)

Oooh, and you've got Glorfindel in on it too. How cool is that? LOL A very intriguing start to what's bound to be a most interesting take on the whole story of Frodo and Sam. Not sure why I need to be thanked, but you're welcome, anyway. Heh!

Author Reply: Oh, you have YOUR input in this one, but more in the next one I have planned, actually. In this one it wasn't direct--you and others who caught one of my booboos.

And of course Glorfindel finds his way into many of my tales! This isn't particularly long, but I hope it's entertaining. A very tiny nuzgul that was only just pretending to wear ears....

Larner,
Great start you have me intrigued. Have the tissues ready also LOL.

Looking forward to the rest.

Idril

Author Reply: That's good you have the tissues ready--they will probably come in handy. And thanks for the vote of confidence!

That's rather unexpected, Larner! I'm not sure yet if that will be a happy AU or not, but the beginning is certainly interesting. Sam's certainty something is wrong with Frodo and someone will come to fetch him was fascinating. And Rosie is such a dear, not objecting to him leaving her, but being so understanding.

Author Reply: Perhaps not truly happy, but not truly unhappy, either, save for those who wish that Frodo had come back.

Rosie knows an important part of her Sam's heart belongs to his Master, and is wise enough to know that if she's to know her share of it, she must accept that truth. But she's bound on giving him the reminder that she'll be waiting for him to return to once he's seen to whatever it is that Frodo needs! Sam needed just such a wife, I think.

Really no time to read, lunch break is over and read-aloud is about to start, but I couldn't resist sneaking a peek. Fascinating beginning! (I love your understanding Rosie...)

It will be difficult to lay this aside until tomorrow, but I have to do it, as the wee hobbits are gathering and I don't want to linger long enough for them to scatter and have to be gathered again...

Author Reply: Ah, but I do know. I hope to be down during Holy Week, so hope to see you then.
