| I like the idea of Gimli making the circets and the ring.It is awe inspiring to think who commands the eagles! Author Reply: I'm so glad you like these items having been crafted by Gimli. That they fit Frodo and Sam indicated they were probably created by one allowed to measure their heads, at least. And I have always been delighted to think that the Great Eagles were Manwe's servants! Thanks so! | |

This is a marvelous 'back story' about the circlets, the mail, and the respect and love that went into everything gifted to the Ring-bearers. Author Reply: Yes, there was respect and love for Frodo and Sam; and by those who themselves deserved it. And I felt it was about time to explore where the mail given Sam might have originated.
