That was sadly lovely. The beauty of Rivendel set against the betrayal of innocense. I very much like how you have this laid out. Makes more sense to me now, Gandalf's part in all this. Author Reply: Hello, hello! First of all, thank you very much for the review, and I'm thrilled that you liked the contrast in the scenes. I had fun portraying the hobbits after such a grim conversation, though I was afraid I'd overplayed it a little. To hear that you enjoyed it makes me feel much better, so thank you very much that!

Ah, the grief of such foreknowledge! In making the rings of power none was created for this small people, and thus It made very slow headway against Frodo, succeeding only on reaching the Sammath Naur. Love the image of Sam lying so near his beloved Master. Author Reply: Hey Larner. Thank you so much for the review, and I'm glad you liked the image of the hobbits. I was very afraid that I was overdoing that scene a little, especially in the end. But at the same time, I needed to give both Sam and Frodo a break after the discussion between Elrond and Gandalf, so I indulged. As for the foreknowledge and the lack of rings for little people, that's an idea that's intrigued for a while and I finally got to include it in this fic. So I'm glad it's something that you picked up on. Thank again!

"at the expense of Sam's neck" Lovely gapfiller. Would say more, but I can only keep one eye half-open at the moment. Nice work. Thanks for the bedtime story. Author Reply: Hey Lindelea. You're very welcome for the bedtime story. Glad it didn't send you completely to sleep. ;) And hopefully you found your own neck in a more comfortable position than Sam's. Many thanks for the review!
