Oh, my word!!

Antane, I'm speechless and weeping all over my keyboard, yet I want so much to leave you a review. So be forewarned that this is pretty disjointed.

What a wonderful tribute to the Professor! It reminds me a bit of that moving song, "Thank You for Giving to the Lord." His life and work have touched so many people with beauty and truth; truly the number is known only to the Lord, as is the extent of his influence. "Well done, My good and faithful servant" indeed!

Lovely, absolutely lovely!

Thank you, dear Antane, for sharing this beautiful tribute with us!

Hugs, brownies, and many, many blessings,
Mum's the Word

Author Reply: You are quite welcome! Thank *you* for the blessing of such a very kind review! You honor me with your tears. I am not familiar with that song but will have to look into it. I'm so glad you enjoyed - always nice to hear from a new fan. I will pass on the brownies if you don't mind, but I will take the hugs and blessings and give you more right back! :)

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

I think this is very fitting, and very much in the spirit of 'Leaf by Niggle'. Tolkien truly believed death to be a gift, a passage to eternal happiness and righteousness. I love that you have placed his beloved creations there to comfort him, as certainly they have comforted so many of us. Emotional, and lovely.

Author Reply: Thank you! The professor has really revolutionized my views on death - not something to be feared, but joyfully embraced. I had originally thought it would be the professor explaining to Frodo and Sam why all those who had gone before him would be coming up to them thanking them for changing and perhaps even saving their lives and they'd be all confounded but still perfect gentlehobbits and then the professor would come and explain everything to them. But as I wrote it, it came out the other way around so that must be the way it was!

What a lovely thought that the creatures of our imagination could gain their own life in the next world!

Author Reply: Lovely indeed! I am looking forward to meeting them!

What an interesting concept Antane. Well done with this. I like how you tied in Leaf by Niggle too.

Author Reply: Hantanyel, my dear harrowcat! I have missed you and your reviews! You have some catching up to do, you know. :) I love Niggle.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! This was true for me - how much I would like to thank the Professor for changing my life. You put that so well into words that I was moved to tears.
The most perfect end - or beginning, rather - for the Professor.
Hugs,
Kitt : )

Author Reply: Thank you and hugs right back! He has certainly transformed my life which I certainly wasn't expecting but how wonderful! He's going to be having people coming up to him for a *long* time.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Oh, yes, just how it should be for the Professor when he comes Home!
Lynda

Author Reply: I thought so - what could have made him happier! And he still has meeting Galadriel, Elrond, Glorfindel, etc etc etc to looking forward to!

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
