It is good to see Frodo recovering.

Author Reply: That's always my favorite part of the story. :)

A beautiful hope, Shirebound--a jewel blessed by Olorin wearing Narya the great as well as the lords of earth and water.

I'm not certain how a river running west from the mountains could flow into the Anduin, but if one branch disappeared underground I suppose it might manage the flow....

Thanks for this tale!

Author Reply: Thank you for reading! Yes, I imagine that somehow a portion of the river found another underground channel, and made its way to the Anduin. When a Maia and two of the Valar are involved in a task, anything is possible. :)

Aww, this whole story was great, and the ending was very satisfying. Aragorn's and Arwen's story is not much spoken about in LOTR, so to see scenes between them always make me happy. And, of course, I love Fellowship stories completely! Seeing them together, well, it makes me wish that Tolkien had devoted more time to conversations between Fellowship members in Rivendell and before Moria, as well as in Lorien. Well, that is what fan fiction is for.

Author Reply: Indeed, the Professor left it up to us to fill in the conversations, thoughts, feelings, and "might have beens"... bless him! I'm very happy you found this ending satisfying. Thank you. :)

*applause* Oh Shirebound, what a perfect way to end this lovely story. I love the way you tie everything back into canon and bring in Arwen's jewel.

You portray the budding friendship between Legolas and Gimli quite marvellously - it seems so 'right' somehow.

Apologies if reviews have been a little tardy recently. RL has been absolutely chaotic!

Author Reply: I'm really pleased that you like the ending! And I completely understand about RL... it took me a whole year to finish this story, I can't believe it. Thank you so much. :)

That was the perfect ending to a lovely story. I am sorry there will be no more chapters of it because I really was enjoying it. : )
This may be one of my favorite stories regarding the relationship between Legolas and Gimli. I like how you build the friendship without getting sappy. Lovely!

Thank you for an enjoyable read!

Author Reply: I appreciate that! I didn't want to portray 'sappy' at all, but rather give Gimli and Legolas lots of room to squabble while at the same time building a relationship of respect and mutual understanding.

That was a most charming ending to a most enjoyable story. I really liked explanation for the white gemstone Arwen gifted Frodo with.

Thanks for writing this wonderful tale.

Author Reply: I debated back and forth about that gemstone, but the Professor never said where it came from, did he? :)

Thank you very much for reading and commenting. This was a fun adventure.

Great finish Shirebound. Now I want to transfer it to my ebook reader so that I can read it properly. Hope that is ok. I will come back with a review. Thanks for putting your wrists through writing this for us to enjoy.

Author Reply: Thanks, Harrowcat. Enjoy it on your ebook!

I appreciate the shout-out to my wrists. They really need a break. Oh well, hobbits are worth any price. :)

Waters that had once travelled silently in the darkness could now tumble freely into the valley of Imladris, where they were touched by the subtle influence of Vilya. They sang with joy, and limitless possibilities, and unbounded hope.

Beautifully expressed, Shirebound!

I enjoyed this story a great deal. Too bad it's already over.

Thank you very much for writing it!

Author Reply: I appreciate you highlighting that passage. I feel that everything in the Professor's world could have a form of consciousness.

Thank you again, Andrea, for all your support and lovely comments.
