Ah, Lady Meldis and Trotter are bonding, just as he bonded with Thorn :) I love how he's settling in with his friends in Two Rivers! A very good thing, that!

Ah, and so Thorn meets Trotter, and Porridge! (I can't remember if I said yet, but Porridge is a *fantastic* name for a pony! Especially a hobbit pony! :D ) And Thorn is about to acquire a new sister! Wonderful :)

Ah, Two Rivers! So *this* is where I got the name! You know, our conception of Two Rivers/Taduin, the Rangers' chief dwelling place, is rather different, but the location is the same! I'm glad you reminded me where on the map I'd put it...silly of me, Dreamflower, but your Dear Miss Dora's Dear Miss Kaylee is *horrible* at geography! Hoarwell and Bruinen, that's right! I would almost think Atto Fiondil inspired this re-read, so I could make sure of my route for our dear Faran...hmm...

I do love reading about Bilbo's interaction with Elrond's sons! I'm sorry to hear about Siggy's death :( but of course it had to have happened, he didn't have a Ring making him feel like 'butter scraped over too much bread'. I do wonder what he made of his best cousin aging so slowly, Dreamflower! What do you think?

Aha, so Longshanks is Arador! Of course, I knew that, but this re-read is so long in coming that I'd half-forgotten anyway. :) I'm glad to see Trotter make the acquaintance of Arador (and Argonui, and Arathorn, and Aragorn, and all the others', LOL!) foster-brothers.

(I forgot to say, I love how Trotter got his Ranger-name!) Is there a tune for that song, by the way? I've got it running 'tunelessly' through my head and want something to sing it to. It's so cute! And better than One Hundred Apple Pies, whether in Common or Elvish no doubt...

"Who are you Rangers?" Blunt and to the point! LOL! Miss Dora would not quite approve, I think (But then, she's not born yet, else I think she'd disapprove of this whole Adventure!)

Oh, Dreamflower! I wish I had a Hildifons (or any good hobbit, really) to cook for me - or to teach me to cook like that! I envy those Rangers; these Dunedain have found a definite reason to keep Hildifons around! :) I'm jealous of them, the meal sounds good for sure!(Some of the things I hadn't heard of, and I'm not sure wild onion would be any better for me than tame onion, which certainly isn't, but I'm sure a hobbit like Hildifons could help me figure out what was and wasn't safe for me to eat.)

Hildifons Chubb, indeed! Heh! Well, he didn't try to keep that up for long - a good thing! It's good that now he's among friends!

Goodness, poor Bilbo! But yes, of course he would have nightmares about his own experiences, after reading *that*! Nothing could be more natural than that. Luckily, as he realized, of course Hildifons turned out all right in the end!
