Fascinating. When you say Sulwe is king of the Tatyar, how big is the kingdom he rules? If it is large, how did the Noldor avoid noticing it? If it is small, by what right does he speak for all the Tatyar? Why did the Tatyar come west? Where is this? The Taur-in-Duinath perhaps? Big, heavily forested, inhabited by dark elves... but far south of most fighting? Or somewhere else? I hope you answer some of these questions later. Inquiring minds want to know. I am enjoying this very much. Author Reply: I hope that chapter 3 will answer most of your questions. I have tried to imply that the exiled Noldor have completely ignored the Tatyar up until now seeing them as lesser beings or backward kinfolk and not worth the time of day like most primitive Avari (a Noldorin sentiment not mine), and the Army of Light from Valinor was simply too busy to go exploring to see what hidden kingdoms might be out there. I'm glad you are enjoying this story:-) It was an interesting challenge writing it and a lot of fun as well (lots of new characters and a new way of thinking for me with "Noldor" who aren't like the Noldor of Aman and yet are). Very intriguing beginning - I like that little I've seen of the characters so far. I like the way you balance their guardedness with a desire to help and be helped. Author Reply: I'm glad you like what you see so far. The Noldor have someone who they needed to protect, but at the same time, they are all in need of help. Common sense had to win out sooner or later with Arafinwe's guards, or so one would hope. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Very interesting. We know so little about the avari, and what little we do know is contradictory. I'd imagine it makes them very hard to write about. Author Reply: The Avari are difficult to write about and the Noldor (Tatyar) who stayed behind are even more so. However, there are some traits which I think are characteristic of all of the Tatyar clan and not just specific to the Noldor. But, we'll have to wait and see. Thanks for reading and reviewing!
