Reach for the Stars  by Raksha The Demon 12 Review(s)

Lovely - I have been enjoying Mirach's story, and yours fits with it so well. I think your Eärendil is just as I would like to think of him.

Author Reply: Thanx, Wombat; I've never even thought of writing Earendil before the lightbulb went on in my head for this story. Earendil is a great and towering figure in Arda; and perhaps the center of Tolkien's mythos; but he would have had to grapple with sorrow.

What a beautiful idea that Elrond should show young Aragorn to his father like this and the child named "Hope" see the full spendour of the "Star of Hope".It is lovely to think that a connection remains between Elrond and his father as he sails across the Heavens.. The ancestry of Tolkien's characters is truly mind boggling and you add a lovely human touch.

Author Reply: Thanx for reading and reviewing, Linda. I don't think that Elrond has warm 'n' fuzzy filial feelings towards Earendil; but I imagine he's very proud of his father the Mariner; and this is a way of connecting to him; also, Earendil's star figures so prominently in the culture both of the high-Elves and the Dunedain, that I would think Elrond would show the star to the Heirs he fosters.
