A Long Walk Down a Short Pier  by Grey Wonderer 15 Review(s)
DreamflowerReviewed Chapter: Prologue on 10/28/2009
Merry is such a smart-aleck! But I would bet if it were "Brandybuck Month" he'd be all for it! Poor Frodo!

Actually, I think as much as hobbits love a party, they'd enjoy "Hobbit Month" even if it didn't make any sense.

Author Reply: I think Merry just enjoyed getting one over on Frodo. LOL
And if Frodo does finish his Hobbit Month plans, I am guessing that Merry will be the first one to arrive at the party. Thanks for reading!

“Diamond may not know anything about boating, but she’s a figured out exactly how to fish.”

What a great punchline! :D

Author Reply: Thank you! As always, I was a bit punchy when I wrote this.
Thanks for reviewing and I'm glad you liked it!

This is brilliant and absolutely delightful GW. Will we get to see Merry's retribution for Pippin planning to use his boat? Loved the relationships you show, especially Merry and is Dad.

Author Reply: Thank you. As always, I love the reviews that contain the word 'brilliant' in them.
I don't know if I'll get around to Merry's retribution or not but I am giving it some thought.
I have always had a thing for writing Saradoc. I don't know what it is about him but I do enjoy writing him. I'm glad you enjoyed this and thank you for reading!

LOL!

“I feel especially singled out since you and I are now drifting aimlessly in a boat.” I do like Saradoc. Got that dry sense of humour.

*sigh*

You can lead a Took to water, but you can't make 'em sink.

Author Reply: For some reason, I have always enjoyed writing Saradoc Brandybuck. I'm glad you enjoyed him in this one.
Not only does Diamond not have both oars in the water this time, she doesn't even know what oars are! Tooks and boats just don't seem to mix. Thanks for reading!

Oh, and the last line of your review would have made an excellent title for this one. : )

Well... you know what they say about Brandybucks. (Only not in polite company.)

Enjoyed having one of your prologues pop up at a time when I actually have a few moments to steal for reading! Just call me a burglar.

Author Reply: If you're a burglar then you are in good company. I hear that Bilbo Baggins is in that line of work though he tries to keep it quiet.

Glad you could stop by and thanks for reviewing. I won't tell the Brandybucks that folks are talking about them. I don't want any trouble with the Master's son. : )
