A Yuletide Lesson  by Llinos 19 Review(s)
PIppinfan1988Reviewed Chapter: Prologue on 12/27/2009
Yes, I'm one of the few who read Prologues, lol. I must read *every* jot and tittle of any story I read. "The Merry Old Inn" was one of my favourite poems in LOTR; I laughed when I first read it. I'm both eager and curious to read what follows...not to mention I love Pippin & Gandalf stories! :-)

That was a nice little story. I enjoyed it a great deal!

And like GW I especially liked this line:

"If you are referring to the incident with the mince pies and the cream," Pippin folded his arms indignantly, "I was barely involved and…"

Thank you very much :-)

I know I left one review here already but, you can't have too many right?

I just want to second the idea of you writing more 'Recaptured'. That 'other reviewer' and I agree completely on that point. : )

I hope you don't mind but I rec'd this story on my LJ.

Thank you for the mention. If Thluggul keeps this up, he is going to be needing his own group of stories. I am very glad that you allowed me to borrow your lovely Yule Dragon for my stories this year. I have grown very fond of him.

Oh, and if you have any other stories that you'd like to be reminded of so you can finish them and we can all enjoy them, let me know what they are and I'll remind you of them. (Pip logic)

I love Paladin's pride here and I do believe that Gandalf will be having the last say on things. : )

Oh, and I'm glad the site argued the title of the chapter with you. It makes the chapter title more interesting all round. : )

and, Happy New Year to you also? (Guessing) Think maybe Newdd is 'new' is it's probably not because that would be too easy wouldn't it?

First of all, I love the song. If this keeps up, you will have to write a songbook for the Shire. (I hope it keeps up by the way.)

Love this little nod to a line spoken by Gandalf:
("If you are referring to the incident with the mince pies and the cream," Pippin folded his arms indignantly, "I was barely involved and…")

I love the care Gandalf takes in helping Pippin make it to the hut and Pippin assuming that Gandalf has done magic when he warms his feet.

So much to love and only one chapter in! Off to read more.

I'm so glad that you have finally posted this lovely story! I love fics in which Gandalf interacts with little Pippin and this one is wonderful - I love the way that Gandalf is testing Pippin without him being aware of it and the way that Pippin shows his worth!

I do hope that you can find time to write more stories like this one and to work on Recaptured! You have such a brilliant grasp of hobbits and their society that your stories are always a joy to read!

Merry Yule!

Oh, good! I just read my email after a very long nap and was so happy to see that you'd posted a story! Thank you for creating Thluggul and for allowing me to borrow him this Yule season. I've been looking forward to this story since you first mentioned it. : )

This is the loveliest story! Dear wise Gandalf, and dear kind-hearted Pippin, and dear Mr. Plodgrass who will soon be feeling useful and welcomed and be able to make his life better. I love heartwarming tales. *beams*
