| Oh, this is so wonderful. Of course, you fooled me, at least through the first half. But it is a nice surprise to discover that this is a new child. | If Théoden would not let Merry fulfil his duty as the king's swordthain, then Merry would fulfil his duty as the heir of Brandy Hall. If Théoden would not let Merry fight for Rohan and Gondor, then Merry would fight for the Shire! Great lines! These are Merry's thoughts, there's no doubt about it! Merry had far too much to ponder and to decide to be squeezed in a drabble ;-) So, you only did him justice by expanding it! | Sneaky dwarf! Love the title of this new series, my cousin, and the reason for the title. Now off to more... Namarie, God bless, Your happy bloom :) Author Reply: Hello bloomster, this is the first in my never-ending quest to produce the perfect drabble. I just can't seem to whittle the blasted fics down to that magic 100 without losing something I like. The urge to elaborate just a bit, or explain why so-and-so is doing what, or where they are and why, is too overpowering. In short, I can't master the blasted drabble. But rather than abandon what has been started ('cos there might be something in it that tickles my fancy), I'm just making them short ficlets instead. Hopefully, the more I post, the nearer I'll get to that elusive 100 mark. And if I'm successful, I'll finish the series off with a true drabble. Hooray! That's the plan anyway ...
