From Wilderness to Cities White  by Larner 391 Review(s)

A sad time; I think it hits Eldarion, and Arwen, harder than it hits Aragorn himself. Well-written...

Author Reply: For Aragorn this is the transition he has known all of his life is awaiting him, one he has faced countless times and has accepted as what might happen at any time, but WILL happen one day. I doubt he has any fear of it at all--like Beadle the Bard's youngest brother, he now moves to accept Death as an equal. Yes, it's much harder on his wife, who still hasn't fully accepted this mortality thing for herself no matter how she's tried to wrap her mind about it; and his son is now the King in his father's stead, which is one heck of a lot of responsibility, after all. I only hope that Eldarion has his own Halbarad and Faramir to back him up!

Lovely story; I can just see the rangy cat and the little Gamgees. Hope that the cat recovered and stayed with them...

Author Reply: I can see it, too. Sam and Marigold and May will undoubtedly spoil it rotten!

And do check out "Griefs Faced and Hearts Lightened" in "Another Moment." I found myself thinking of you as I posted it.

Now that was one happy cat!

Author Reply: Or at least he's a lucky one! Heh!

AntaneReviewed Chapter: 4 on 1/18/2011
An intriguing story. I was amused by the refusal of Faramir to tell even his king the truth but let them all discover it on their own.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Often lessons are learned best if they are learned independently! Thanks so, Antane.

A loving gift for a great friend. How far these two came.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Yes, an excellent and proper gift for Legolas from Gimli. Thank you so!

Loving companionship indeed, not just in spouses chosen, but between the two men here also. Their loving relationship begins from the Call back from death and Faramir's waking words and must have only deepened. And how nice that Aragorn would wish him the same joy he was to know.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Aragorn has come to his own bliss--how much he must have wished for this to be shared with the one he thought of as a younger brother, or perhaps as a son, and definitely a friend!

“Sleep well, Oropher, Ereinion Gil-galad, and so many, many others,” the Elf called out. “Your sacrifice was not in vain, you will find. And when the time is right, I look to behold you again within Aman, and to greet you with the word that your enemy is indeed cast down, and this time will not rise again.” He gave a surprisingly deep bow toward the marshes..."

I love this part!

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: It was a most worthy ambition to hold, I would think. Now what evil might come upon Middle Earth is at least the evil of Men, and not that of fallen angels and demons, or at least for the most part!

I'm sure Faramir's mother did watch over her son. And I love most the ending that the clothes were being made for the Ringbearers' in the hope and anticipation of their waking and using Elven needles also. From what little we saw of them in the film and stills, splendid indeed did Frodo look in them! :)

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: I'm certain that Frodo Baggins looked stunning in them, even if he had the blaze of white hair and the hairy wart the Master once had imagined for him! Heh! Thank you so, Antane, for all of the feedback!

I am quite sure that every being's eyes around that table were bright with unshed tears, although there would certainly be many shed within the next few days, and unashamedly. So poingnant a story in such finely honed words.

Author Reply: And I'm certain you are right, Erulisse. And thank you!

That would be a difficult time. My heart goes out especially to Eldarion but also Legolas and Gimli. Where is Arwen I wonder?

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: All lose one they love deeply, Antane. No matter what his faith, they still must go on without his presence daily.

Whether Arwen is there or hiding from her coming loss I'm not certain. It's hardest for her right now, I think.
