And still the future is full of possibilities! It's really a shame that it didn't work out for the two of them. Lanti put a lot of work in bringing them together. So, a marriage would have rewarded her for her efforts. I'm curious to find out how things developed from Lanti's point of view. AND: Happy belated birthday :-) Author Reply: Oh, yes, still lots of possibilities--until we find ourselves dealing with the interference of a bitter matron in Hobbiton. And thanks for the wishes--it was very nice.

Very nice. Here, I think Eglantine's emotions are beautifully realistic--what mother does not want her daughter to make a good match? Yes, I quite liked this one. Author Reply: Oh, yes, realistic--but premature, as it proves in the end. Am so glad you liked it!

I like the weaving theme that appears to be running through it so far. It's a clever idea. ~~~~~{~@ Author Reply: The theme for these drabbles is "A Tangled Web," and deals with various matters of manufacture of cloth. They gave us six prompts, and I added three more, so you will see what came of them all. Thanks so!

I am trying to get back on track for reviewing. Have a Happy Birthday my dear Larner. May this coming year be full of wonderful dreams and magic moments. The same thread as the previous drabble I assume. What a wonderful blanket I am imagining. Weaving with such love and hope would make it perfect. But does it get finished? Author Reply: And now I'm trying to catch up on my responding! Heh! Had a lovely birthday. Yes, these drabbles to follow the same story arc. As to whether that blanket gets finished--I suspect that it does. But it never sees that marriage bed she envisioned.

Lovely picture Larner. I wonder what Eglantine actually did with the thread or if she remembered her musing that day. Author Reply: A good question, of course. To think of her firstborn married to Frodo must have seemed a dream come true, particularly as responsible as most considered him to be most of the time. He was also likely to be well off and provided for, and particularly once he was Bilbo's ward and most likely to be his heir. Thank you so!

This was very sweet. I thought the brief, yet very different side of Frodo the reader glimpsed was refreshing, and Pearl's (and her mother's) infatuation with him is completely understandable. Very nice! Author Reply: Thanks, Adonnen. Yes, a slightly different side of Frodo, perhaps, as he was younger. It was a match that was not to be in the end, but a relationship that he would have been affected by strongly while it went on. Thanks so!

What a beautiful image! It would have been lovely if those two had married. But as we know from your stories they were not meant for each other... Who knows what their future would have been like? At least at that happy moment everything seemed to be possible! Author Reply: Yes, at the moment there is a whole world of possibilities before the two of them. And I think that Frodo would have been wonderful with little Pippin and his sisters! Thanks so, Andrea.
