Places in the Heart  by Raksha The Demon 13 Review(s)
shireboundReviewed Chapter: Prologue on 6/19/2011
"I ask that you speak in its halls as well as in the risen halls of Osgiliath, among other wise teachers."

What a marvelous idea. Finally a world at peace where such inspiring dreams can be truly hoped -- and worked -- for.

Author Reply: Oh, yes; it's a whole new ballgame now, for sure. To be able to sit down and seriously consider the reconstruction of these great historic cities without worrying about Sauron sending more trouble from Mordor or Dol Guldur must have been wonderful. I think there were other wars ahead, but probably not as devastating as the Ring War, nor as constant.

Thanks for reviewing, Shirebound!

Such a beautiful story, Raksha! Yes, it would be wonderful to see those cities renewed. And I am sure they will be renewed... :)

Author Reply: For men such as Aragorn and Faramir, used to seeing these ancient Dunedain cities in ruins, the reality of having time and peace enough to envision their restoration must have been wonderful indeed. When Osgiliath and Annuminas are finally rebuilt, I think there will be considerable rejoicing in both the north and south....

Thanks for reading and reviewing, Ellynn!

What a lovely glimpse of Aragorn and Faramir's plans for the future and what a time it must have been to live in. I like it that Faramir will speak his mind and Aragorn listen to him.

Author Reply: Thanks for reviewing, Linda. I envision that Faramir is not afraid of Aragorn, but they are still feeling out the relationship of King and Steward and their own natural affinity for each other as friends. I see them as having tremendous mutual respect, but in this instance, Faramir is speaking to his liege-lord as the King's advisor, which is a little different from speaking to him as a friend...The weeks and months after Aragorn's coronation must have been tremendously busy and exciting.
