The chapter after this just posted, so I thought I had ought to review this one first. ...barrels not water-tight...but perhaps just enough. I remember a millenia or so later, (depending on how old Legolas was at the time of The Battle of Five Armies, I have heard two different versions,) thirteen Dwarves and their friend the Hobbit rode in and on the Elven King's barrels all the way down to Laketown. They were carefully packed, full-grown dwarves, not thrown in, frightened children, but there still is hope! And the rope is tight, perhaps Galion has them. Now to get an unconscious Saeron out in one piece!

Author Reply: maybe they are waterproof but they can still impact with the rocks in the river and they are surely sticky, nothing really pleasant for little children. Yes, and Saeron needs help also - much to do for poor Galion....thank you so much for reading and reviewing demedter d. Lai8

A taut chapter and a mean cliffhanger. If even one of the children, assuming they are actually in the barrels, is killed, Thoran will have much to answer for. He truly is insane. Looking forward to the next chapter with bated breath.

Author Reply: where would be the fun without a cliffhanger but your are right nothing to laugh in this chapter and the children ARE in the barrels! Thoran will have much to answer for. And he has not reached his peak in insanity. Thank you so much for an appreciated review, Fiondil. Lai

Thoran is certainly a sick bastard, playing such games. I hope Saeron succeeds in finding his father and the children soon, but something tells me he's doomed to fail. You're almost as mean as I am with my characters. LOL!

Author Reply: he´s a sick bastard indeed! Your assumption may be right. Where is the fun without being a little mean? LOL! Thak you so much for a much appreciated review, Fiondil!

I am throughly enjoying your story. You have had me on the edge of my seat a couple times.I don't want to be in Thoran's shoes, when Galion and the others catches up with him.Have a feeling, that things will not be pleasant for him.Appologes for not reviewing sooner.Life in my house is crazy and thats on a good day. Can't wait for the next chapter.LOL Galthil.

Author Reply: you are welcome, Galathil. I´m glad for any review and appreciate it very much. you are right: Thoran should run when help arrives. I had you on the edge of your seat? Then I have done something right!LOL! I will update soon, promise. Lai

Oh dear! I hope one of the warriors brought Luindil with them. He really should have been questioned..... this is dark!

Author Reply: there are many questions to be answered and I can promise that it will get even darker. LOL! Thank you so much for your review. Lai

Great thing that the gate was open. And the guards - no guards - definitely seems like a trap!

I love the brotherhood of Saeron and Galion. Nicely written.

Poor Liriel and yet, brave Liriel. Accosted now by two angry, suspicious elves - and yet, what would they do without her! Yet how own son is captive. I know she can help. I just know she can.

Author Reply: they suspect a trap already but have they any other options? I´m glad you liked the friendship between Saeron and Galion. Yes, Liriel can help , but will that help her son? Just stay with me and all your questions will be answered. LOL! Thank you so much for reviewing, Agape. Lai

Trust Legolas to sense his ada before all the others. Hope Saeron is able to free Thranduil and the children without too many deaths along the way and that Galadhion will be able to hold off the Orcs and protect the villages.

Author Reply: Legolas is the son of his father and no mistake! A many seemingly impossible tasks to achieve for his other sons though. It will certainly not getting easier now. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing. Lai

Sorry it took so long to get back to this story but this is the first good day I felt I could handle leaving a review. Loved the part with Thranduil releasing his spirit. Is he a great king or what?

Author Reply: Hi Fiondil, don´t mind. I´m only glad you are better now. I deemed it necessary for Thranduil to help his people. Glad you liked it. That he is a great king is without question. LOL! Thank you so much for your review. You know how much I appreciat it. Lai

I'm with Fiondil. I'm hoping the bird got to Ekrond right quick and reinforcements are on the way.

Otherwise, both brothers are in a peck of trouble.

Well written chapter.

Author Reply: thank you, Agape. The bird will be quick, but the way back is quite long and the brothers will be in trouble anyway. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing. Lai

How wonderful that Thranduil could encourage his people in this way! Little Legolas knows his Ada refuses to be cowed, even behind stone. This gave me as much hope as the elves! Great writing!

Author Reply: Hello BeeGee. I´m so glad you liked what Thranduil did. I could so imagine him using some of the old magic to help his people and Legolas is a special little elf, isn´t he? Thank you so much for you review. Lai
