Elf Academy Part Deux  by Fiondil 25 Review(s)
TariReviewed Chapter: 1 on 1/17/2012
I decided to forego re-reading Elft Acadamy as I couldn't wait to see what happens next. It seems the Academy is turning into a web of mystery. What will Mr. Meriweather think when he sees the Elves? He's in for quite a surprise. They would make good allies for him, methinks.

Author Reply: Hi Tari. Just couldn't wait, huh? *grin* And there is much intrigue going on. We'll see how Mr. Meriwether reacts to the Elves and what happens to him and them as the story unfolds. Thanks for reading and reviewing. It's much appreciated.

Only you, Fiondil, could grab my undivided attention into an LOTR/SILM AU fic with a chapter that doesn't even have an actual elf character walking and talking in it (other characters talking ABOUT the elves don't count.) *grin*

You did tell me that this one wouldn't be as light-hearted as the original, and I can see that it certainly will be dealing with much more serious issues. But I'm also expecting to find the perfectly placed tension-breaking bits of humor that seem to be a trademark of your tales.

I'll reserve judgment on who Ambrose might be. Just because a name sounds similar doesn't necessarily mean that it's who one could be lead to think it is... *grin*

Thanks for giving such a vivid picture of the secretary, btw. Having worked as one for 24+ years, it's nice to see Ms. Dunlap gatekeeping for the Deputy Director. The whole cookie thing made me giggle.

And Artemus Gordon Meriwether (love the name and genesis of it!) soon to be known as Alex Grant looks to be an interesting character to begin with. It will be interesting to see how the power of friendship and personal respect will conflict with his duty to the orders he has been given.

I'm really looking forward to Friday morning! :)

Well done!

Author Reply: Hi Rhyselle. Well, the second chapter will have plenty of Elves and more to keep you happy. *grin* Actually the first two chapters can probably be seen as an extended prologue to the rest of the story, setting things up, as it were. And while this story is a bit more serious in scope it does have its lighter side.

And hopefully, Artemus Gordon Meriwether aka Alex Grant will prove an interesting character as we see him trying to figure out Elf Academy and those who run it.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it.

So here we go again, and they have a mole in the works of the Elf Academy. I know I'm going to enjoy the ride, but I can already tell that there will be many twists and turns in what will be a satisfying weekly read. I'm so happy that you've started posting this, I've been looking forward to it for....two months now since you promised me this would be your next story? Yes - at least two months :-)

Author Reply: Hi Erulisse. Well, at least you didn't have to wait another two years. LOL! I'm glad you are looking forward to the rest of the story. Hopefully, you won't be disappointed. Thanks for reading and revieiwng. I appreciate it.

Yay sequel time! And ah, the joys of trying to vanish in a high tech society. Looking forwards to seeing how things go~

Author Reply: Yeah, it can be tough. *grin* Thanks for commenting, bookworm. I'm glad you're looking forward to the rest of the story.

My heart leapt for joy when I saw this in my in box and I wasn't disappointed. I have just got back from a nice mental vacation with Elf Academy over Christmas while I was dealing with my Mum,s death so thank you for both that and this. Aim sorry too that I didn't feel up to commenting on the Wedding even though I loved every word.

Author Reply: Hello Harrowcat. I'm so sorry for your loss. I am glad that Elf Academy and Wedding helped you through such a difficult time. And I quite understand about not being up to commenting. I hope you enjoy this sequel as much as you enjoyed the original. Thanks for taking the time to read and review. I appreciate it very much.

Interesting! Definitely not the kind of beginning I expected. So at least one elf has been an agent (Ambrose = Amroth?).

" "He knows what I look like," he said.

"It’s been fifteen years and you are very good at disguises." "

If only they knew that fifteen years and a disguise can hardly prevent an elf from recognising an old friend. This is really going to be interesting, and I wonder just who sent those pictures. If the Agency keeps them, the elves have to hide from newspapers and such for the next few decades, otherwise someone will notice that none of them seem to age.

Author Reply: Hi someone. Well, I'm approaching this sequel from a different angle to the first story and it will be more involved and convoluted. And you know me, I like doing the unexpected. *grin* As to the identity of Ambrose Elwood, we'll learn of that soon enough, never fear. Thanks for commmenting. It's much appreciated.

SOME WESTERN!! SOME WESTERN!! Just stab me in the heart next time Fiondil. I lived, breathed and slept the Wild, wild west and I was sure that I was destined to be the next Mrs. James T. West. LOL.

What a nice treat to see what happened to our favorite elves play at being "elves". ** smiling gleefully***

I didn't think it would be long before some one turned them in.

Author Reply: And I wanted to be Artemus Gordon. LOL! It was a fun show and they don't make them like that anymore, unfortunately. Thanks for reading and reveiwing, eliza. I very much appreciate it.

Well, this is an unexpected and delightful surprise. I enjoyed the original, and am looking forward to this sequel.

Artemus Gordon made me laugh (Yes, I am old enough to remember the original. He was a fave) but you have me wondering about the identity of Abrose Elwood / Ryan McKinley. Amroth, perhaps? It would be fun to hear more about his story.

Author Reply: Hi FantasyFan. I'm glad you are delighted with this. I hope you like this sequel as much as you enjoyed the original. And Artemus Gordon was my favorite character in the show, too. Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it very much.
