Imrahil's Daughters  by Lialathuveril 103 Review(s)

Ah, but she's woven her tangled web and must find her way out of it herself, although she seems intent on wrapping herself up quite stickily at this point! Heh!

Author Reply: Hello Larner,
yes, at the moment she's still at the stage of tangling herself up nicely - she'll soon look like the dwarves in Mirkwood if she's not careful...

Somehow I overlooked the alert for the last chapter so have read two together and enjoyed them both very much.I just love Lothiriel's crazy plan and can't wait to see what happens next!

Author Reply: Hello Linda,
poor Lothiriel, when she's put so much effort into her plans and you call them 'crazy' ;-D

She's just digging herself a deeper and deeper hole! I love it! :) Looking forward to the next installment... thanks for sharing your story with us.

Author Reply: Hi Radbooks,
yes, she's certainly digging very hard! Not a nice situation to be in, but I have to admit I like watching my characters struggle ;-)

Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to decieve!

Truer words were never spoken!

Author Reply: How very true! And of course it will get worse before it gets better.

I'm thoroughly enjoying this story! Love how you're writing Lotheriel - she's seen so much, but is still very much ignorant of the way life works (he'd forget you? riiiight...). The combination of innocence and bravado to think that she could pull this off is both charming and tremendously amusing. She's definitely resourceful - inventing a look-alike illegitimate half sister on the fly?!? Can't wait to see how this unfolds!

Author Reply: Hello Lyana,
resourceful is certainly a good description for Lothiriel! Or maybe the mead gave wings to her imagination... ;-) And I agree with your about her innocence/naivety and of course she hasn't taken Eomer's measure at all.

More next week!

Well, she's certainly painted herself into a corner, hasn't she? She's obviously never learned that the more one lies the harder it is to sustain those lies, as eventually the discrepancies will come out. Now, to see how she handles this silliness!

Author Reply: Hello Larner,
Lothiriel will of course eventually discover the truth of your statement, but perhaps not for a while yet. I have to admit I like stories where the characters dig themselves into a hole! Last time it was Eomer, now it's Lothiriel's turn...

You know what struck me most about this enjoyable chapter? How much you've slipped into Eomer's mindset.

He's a practical man, wanting to know how the fountain works. He's been "inspecting" prospective wives. He's "hunting." All of this is just so dead on and so good at creating Eomer without ever saying something direct. It's just wonderfully done.

Author Reply: Hello Daw,
nice hearing from you again! And I'm pleased that you like my characterization of Eomer. Although to be honest I don't really consciously set out to paint him as practical or down to earth, the hunting and other details just pop into my mind!

Oh, I certainly doubt that Eomer will have forgotten her! Heh! What a pretty pickle!

Author Reply: Hello Larner,
oh, I'm sure Eomer goes round kissing girls in cupboards all the time ;-)

Somehow, I don't think Lothiriel's plan will work but I'm longing to find out! A most enjoyable chapter.

Author Reply: Hello Linda,
it wouldn't be fun if her plan worked out, would it?

Such a treat to find a gripping new story from you. Your Eomer feels very true to life. Thank Goodness the broom fell over before they did something they would forever regret!Wartime leads to many impulses being yielded too, but Eomer and Lothiriel will have something better ahead of them.

Author Reply: Saved by a broom so to say ;-) But you know me, before they get to the 'something better ahead of them', they'll have to navigate a few dangerous shoals. However, I hope it will be fun to watch.
