Oh, my dear! *wipes eyes* There is so much that is lovely and heartwarming about this chapter that it was almost painful to read. I adore that Scamp was remembered and honored, but the bestowing of the Elven Rings of Power was absolutely perfect. Adore this! Author Reply: Oh, my! Thank you, Addie. It means a lot to me that this chapter moved you so. There's a lot of love and happiness I want to pour into this story, and it's wonderful to know that it's coming through. *hugs hugs*

Oh, that's lovely. I especially loved the description of the approach to the chamber, and the clever way that the 'dust' within had been used in the restoration. What a beautiful, idea, that the Elven rings might be left with the hobbits..... and an even more beautiful one that Galadriel's should be passed to Gimli. a great chapter! thank you! Author Reply: Thank you, Jan. The ideas in this chapter are part of what inspired the whole story, so I'm glad they worked for you. It makes my heart happy to think that hobbits might inherit *beneficial* rings for a change, and of course dear, humble Gimli will treasure his unexpected gift.

So lovely to wake on this holiday morn to see this story continued, Shirebound. My goodness, the Three Elven Rings in the hands of Hobbits! Now there's an eye-opener and no mistake, as Sam would say. LOL! Giving Gimli Nenya was perfect and of course Aragorn should have Vilya. I have a feeling, though, there is more behind this than handing the Rings over to their true owners (and will Pippin keep Narya and if not, to whom will he give it?) and I look forward to reading more. Author Reply: Glad I could add some hobbity cheer to your holiday morn! (I'm on my way over to your own update soon.) After so many years of writing, it's a challenge to come up any 'eye-openers'; what a joy to know that a few more are still possible.

I loved the idea of the Elven Ring healing Frodo and am certain Aragorn will put it to good use.It should be a comfort to Arwen too. The statue of Scamp is a lovely idea. A most enjoyable chapter. Author Reply: Thank you, Linda. I'm really happy that you enjoyed this.

Ai ai ai ai ai!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay, this chapter brought tears to my eyes and oh my, this is one of the best chapters you've ever written, Janet. As if the bronze statue of Scamp wasn't enough, THEN you had to go and make me all emotional as Frodo decides to gift Vilya to Aragorn. Frodo smiled, his whole being radiating peace. “Because I’m finally strong enough to give it up, as I could never have given up the Enemy’s Ring.” Okay, TEARS there. I didn't expect this story to do that, but you've done that admirably. And I loved Sam's refusal to take any ring at all---that is so like Sam. Bravo for this chapter... it was brilliant. Author Reply: What a compliment, Lily! Thank you ever so much. When I know that something I've written has moved someone to tears... wow. I'm very proud of this chapter. What a true pleasure to know that you enjoyed it this much.

What a perfect chapter. I had tears in my eyes when Gimli received Nenya. Wonderful. I am also delighted to know that Scamp has many descendants. Thank you. Author Reply: Thank you for your lovely comments. Dear Scamp will live ever on and on in the hearts of all who know and love her.

Oh, my. You leave me speechless. Except... I just had to say, I love the memorial to wee Scamp. We love our furry companions so... Author Reply: Yay, I was hoping you'd enjoy this chapter. Hobbits *and* furry companions being honored by the wisest of the Wise... what can be better?

Well that makes sense, that the Rings would not loose all their power, even a dying fire will still give off some heat. It makes sense that Frodo would pass it on to Aragorn now that he is healed. Giving Galdrials ring to Gimli would no doubt please The Lady also. Good to know that Scamps descendants are still populating The Shire and bring joy to many people. Does Frodo have a pup now or does he share in Sam's pups? More please, Huggs and Scritches, Lynda Author Reply: even a dying fire will still give off some heat... exactly! That's a great analogy. Thank you, Lynda. Being asked for more is an author's greatest delight. (And we haven't heard the last about puppies in this story.) :)

Oh, the perfect disposition for the Three! And now Vilya goes to the husband of Vilya's long-time bearer's granddaughter? Or perhaps he will give it into Arwen's keeping! Wonderful! And love the memorial to Scamp! Author Reply: Thank you! I'm so pleased that you enjoyed this chapter and feel that everything rang true regarding the rings and how wee Scamp was honored. *beams*
