If You Wish Upon a Dwobbit  by Soledad 16 Review(s)

I'm glad that their arrival has been welcomed and that they are all apparently comfortably situated. And it does appear that Bifur's wound will be properly dealt with. I find I like Tyrfingr. (But that might just be the visual disabilities specialist in me responding to his visual limitations and how well he does in spite of them! Heh!)

Author Reply: I found in the WETA book, among the various early Dwarf designs one that showed a possibly albino Óin. Thank God they never went for that, but I used the image for Tyrfingr.

In the next chapter, you'll finally meet Mother Edhla and her very Dwarvish dwarvishness. :)

Well, a most fortunate meeting, and definitely portentous. Now--the Dwarves will find their way to the heart of the Shire as well, to an even more interesting meeting!

Author Reply: Oh, they will take their sweet time before doing that! *points at newly posted chapter* First, we'll get a proper look at Thorin's Halls under the Blue Mountains, see, some Dwarven fire-magic and meet Dís Thráinsdóttir who could give Laila Took the run for her money. *g*

Thanks for taking the time to review. You are a jewel.

Ah! A most productive day of shopping, apparently. And Bifur should be much the better for Oin's purchases.

Thanks so for the compliment, and I have been smiling broadly at the references to "Brother Cadfael's Herb Garden." Have been tempted during trips to England to take Brother Cadfael's Walk, although since the death of the author the city no longer identifies quite as openly with her works as before. Ms. Pargeter, who wrote also as Ellis Peters, loved that region near the borders of Wales and set many of her works there. Have all twenty Brother Cadfael books, the Inspector Felse books, and a few others besides. Love the Heaventree Trilogy!

Author Reply: I've got all the Cadfael books, too, and believe me, they weren't easy to get inder the rock where I live. I had to employ the help of friends in several different countries. *g*

I'm glad you liked the new chapter, thanks for taking the time to review.

The treatment for the wound sounds promising, and I rejoice that she has his support and comfort right now. Now, to see the ride to Bree play out and see all preparing for the trip to Erebor.

Author Reply: Oh, but first they have to make some money on the Bree market! And Óin has to visit the local herb-mistress. *g*

Thanks for reading and commenting. I swear I'll get around to read a little, too. In a little after a month, when this term finally ends.

Ah, good--friends such as this are well met indeed. And trust Gandalf to direct Oin to the meeting place.

Author Reply: Gandalf is a wily old bird, isn't he? *g*
I'm really happy that you like the new story. Thanks for taking the time to review, I was beginning to despair that no-one would like the poor Dwarves. I just got new inspiration by visiting the Old Smithy in Vienna, so I hope to go on with both Dwarf stories steadily. *crosses fingers*
