Sorry I haven't been on much; I had some radiation burns that kind of knocked me for a loop and then some. Not looking for sympathy just didn't want you to think I was blowing up a great story. :)

Any who great update love all the twists and turns this has taken. I get my energy back up I will review the ones I missed :)

Well, it went better than it might have. And a workable plan of prenentative care has been set in motion.

Author Reply: Definitely, Larner, and hopefully the regime of energy lenders will make things a lot easier for both Amroth and Nimrodel, and, of course, now the triplets will have lots of "uncles" looking after them. *grin* Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it.

Nice trick to get Amroth to accept help. The poor guy didn't stand a chance. But he was graciously enough to accept the help in the end. You know, in the last chapter Glorfindel stormed out at the least provocation. Amroth swearing like that I would think was even worse although it was not directed at Glorfindel. By the way there is a typo: "Amroth snarled at him. “You’re doing, I take it, you interfering seren-en-orch!”" I think you meant "Your doing, I take it,..."

Author Reply: No, Amroth didn't have a chance, but it's good that he didn't fight them on it for too long. As for Glorfindel's reactions, well, Vorondur sees that his expression becomes unreadable and for some reason that seems more frightening to him than if Glorfindel had started shouting or something. At any rate, thanks for pointing out the typo, and I'd just re-read this recently and I still missed it. *sigh* And thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

Well, I'm glad the bonfire went well, also that the Valinor Elves seem to be settling in. Poor Glorfi just has way too much to deal with, doesn't he?
Oh, Amroth, stop being so prideful and just accept help! Finally. It's a good thing there are so many qualified healers there now who know how to deal with things like this.
The mental image of Elrond leaning against a counter with crossed arms and legs...it seems like a very Mortal pose.
Good chapter, thanks!

Author Reply: Hi ReaderKit. Yes, it does look as if the Valinórean Elves are settling in. Glorfindel does have a lot on his plate at the moment and it's not going to get any easier as we will see.

Amroth, of course, has been so used to going it alone (he's only been with other Elves for less than three years after spending millennia alone) that he's not used to asking for help, but he's not unintelligent and he sees the benefit of others lending him their energy to help him through this and having so many healers around does help.

As for Elrond, I suspect he's noticed the relaxed attitude of the Wiseman Elves and the way the stand and talk and all and he is just copying them to fit in more. And really, why would we expect even Elves to be on their dignity ALL the time? ;)

Thanks for reviewing. It's very much appreciated.

From the sound of things, Amroth must have been absolutely exhausted. It's good to see that mom is doing well, even if dad was running himself into the ground. I agree, it would be cute for the kids to have many "uncles" who helped support Amroth.

I remember what that particular Sindarin curse means and half expected somebody to start throwing punches!

The aura thing is nifty. I've always been fascinated by that kind of stuff. I wonder if the Elves could teach some of the mortal doctors to do the same, if they have the ...whatever it is... that some people claim lets them see auras. It could certainly come in handy. But at least the twins will get to learn it, and from Elrond, too. Just like old times!

Oh my, what did Aranfinwë do to get in the doghouse? Even if it's not a story likely to be told, it's funny just imagining it.

So Elrond and Celebrian are moving into Wiseman for sure! Maybe Elrond can take some of the pressure off of Ron. Exciting times.

Not going to lie, I'm planning to put on a hoodie and fuzzy socks, burrow in a blanket, and do my best impression of a sloth for the next two days. Stay warm!

Author Reply: Hi Kevana. I'm sure Ron would like to have thrown a punch or two at Amroth right about then, but he allowed his professionalism to take over, which is just as well.

I'm glad you like the idea of aurae. I think it's a nifty concept as well.

I'm not sure what Arafinwë that got him sent to the doghouse, but if I ever find out, maybe it will show up in a story somewhere. *grin*

Stay warm and thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

Whoa! I sure hope that Elrond has the patience and stamina needed to get certified. Four years of college and 3 years of medical school, followed by 3 more years doing an internship and residency. It's going to take him a full decade to become a certified doctor, even though he's already a master healer.

Author Reply: Hi KathyG. Well, don't forget, he's an Elf. Ten years for him is nothing, but I doubt it will take him that long. I'm sure they'll fudge certain matters just as they've done with the other healers who will be leaving shortly for Anchorage to take the medical boards and become certified. We'll see in Elf Academy 4 what Elrond decides he wants to do now that he's back in Middle-earth. Thanks for reading and reviewing. It's appreciated.

Oh dear - it seems like Elven mles are just like Mortal males when it comes to asking for help, or directions. A man will drive around for hours becaue he will not admit that he is lost, while a woman will have few qualms about asking for directions.
So at least Amroth has been convinced to accept help, and I guess Elrond telling how he managed his situation (which he managed with help from friends). And I guess one outcome of the energy transfusions is that those who contribute energy are going to consider themselves the triplets' "uncles" - and I guess that means the little ones will end up with lots of uncles and aunts. ;-)

Author Reply: Hi Sunny. The male of the species, whatever the species, is often clueless about such things. *grin* At least they were able to convince Amroth to accept the help that was being offered him and that's all that matters right now. And yes, I suspect the triplets will have tons of uncles and aunties. Lucky elflings.

Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it.

It sounds like Elrond, Dar and Cani are starting to think about their future in Middle-Earth. Dar might have a problem finding unfrozen water in Alaska, but I would think that the general sailor abilities of navigation and exploring would come in handy for jobs like working at one of the resorts as someone who took tourists on snow mobile trips or camping. Cani's ability with copper smithing would still come in handy as a metal worker because there are still a lot of smiths around for artistic sake or for fixing things that have broken or worn out.
Elrond's healing ability is a given, he will become board certified. It was interesting to find out what he did learn when he arrived in Aman and served as an apprentice. Reading aurae could come in handy as you showed with Amroth.

Poor Amroth. I am sure that his lacking energy is making him short tempered with everyone. He is probably wearing out Nimrodel even though he doesn't mean to. The discussion about aurae was very interesting. Some Mortals would consider it New Age though there have been many who have used the gift to help heal others. That some of the elves can read the aurae of others and share energy with each other is certainly a great boon. Hopefully that will help until the triplets get here. I would think afterwards, the ellyn could help in keeping up the energy of the babies.

This week has flown by in a hurry for me. Have a great weekend and I will be here on Monday for the next chapter.

Author Reply: Hi rikki. Your ideas about what Dar and Cani can do with their particular backgrounds certainly have merit and I'll have to keep them in mind for the future.

I'm sure the sharing of energy will help tremendously. Amroth has a heavy burden right now and he needs all the help he can get.

Have a great weekend yourself. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

This was a really interesting chapter. You have a knack for making these conversations seem so natural, even though they are necessary to advance the plot. The conversations around the campfire ranged over many topics, but hit on some essential things, especially Elrond's decision to become board certified, and his feelings about his son's decision to move back to the East coast.

I really enjoyed the discussion with Amroth about his need for support, and the easy way you segued into that with the general talk of auras (my husband is certified in Healing Touch, so I am somewhat familiar with some of what they mean) and the way Amroth's colors signified his need. What he's going through with three babies is unprecedented, but Elrond's experience helped him understand better that he needs to accept the help, not only for his own sake but for Nimrodel's and the children.

Looking forward to more!

Author Reply: Hi Dreamflower. I'm glad you found the various conversations to sound natural. It's not as easy as it looks. And I'm glad you enjoyed the discussion with Amroth, especially the aurae. I'm sure everyone is happy that Amroth agreed to let them help him. And as Elrond knowd from experience what he's going through, he has a sympathetic shoulder to lean on.

Thanks for leaving a review. It's much appreciated.

At least some folks are beginning to show sense. Very informative chapter. Thank you.
