| Really so very frustrating that such an occasional has to be marred by all of this nonsense. I really do kind of wish he would just chuck Bador Into a cell. May not be Aragon’s’ fist choice, but maybe the most effective at this point. Neither the real baddies nor the young drunks really have any idea what they’re getting into. They think they do, but they can’t. Legolas’s frustration and words were especially interesting, given the intimate knowledge he has of his father that the others don’t. | |

| What beautiful chaotic merriment your descriptions stir in my imagination! I’m sure I was grinning throughout the whole last part of the chapter — all the friends and the fun and the different races (and no doubt languages) brought together. How excited everyone (most everyone) must have been! Also, I enjoyed your description of the tombs in the early part of the chapter. So stately and solemn, made more so by the presence of beloved family there. Thx as always for writing! | |

| I totally get Thranduil in this chapter - I’m incapable of going through a market like that without buying things. :-D More seafood! I want to go to Gondor now …. Though the new company I could do without. It always amazes me how petty bad guys seem to be able to think that *they’re* going to be the one to pull one over on the ancient, highly trained, highly dangerous good guy. The baddies do overestimate themselves. It’s the James Bond villain syndrome, I guess - gloating over their own cleverness never goes well. | |

However, since the baddies really want what is the king’s, such protestations would be pointless. Anyway, this is not spur of the moment, obviously, but a long-running corruption. | Mmmm … seafood. Yes, my salad just doesn’t quite cut it. *wanders off in search of something else to eat.* The unrest against the Elves from some quarters strikes me a completely realistic. Not only has an unknown Man come to be their king, but he’s bringing a lot of changes all at once. Not everyone will look kindly on that. The loyal and thoughtful ones will come through it well, as they were saying, but there are always a few who are so focused on themselves that anything they don’t like (or that doesn’t fit into their plans) is dismissed and condemned out of hand….. | |

| I have no idea how I missed that there are three chapters of this I haven’t read - I can only think they came out during the times I was taking a break from fanfic. But!
