Oh dear! Somehow I thought I had already commented on this chapter! I love the delightful hobbit scene you have created, from the makeshift privacy screen to Sam's potato soup to Pippin's chatter. I am also falling for your OCs! They are so respectful and awed, yet they try to follow Aragorn's insistence that they not be formal with the hobbits. Author Reply: Thank you! I can never resist an idea for a Cormallen story. It's truly my "happy place". I've never had potato soup myself, but I suspect it's quite yummy.

Ah, the mystery of the wax is revealed! I'm intrigued. I wonder if this would help my mom's arthritic hands. I love how everyone in the story is contributing to the well-being of all. Truly the meaning of fellowship. <3 Author Reply: We can talk about wax treatment when I see you. It's interesting! Thank you for putting words to what I try to convey in my stories, and what I feel is the essence of the Professor's tale. :)

“But isn’t kingsfoil just a weed?” “Hardly. I will let the hobbits explain,” Aragorn said with a grin, then he hurried away. That is a splendid idea of Sam. And the wax therapy for Frodo's hand was just the right thing to do. Maybe Sam should also make some candles with rose oil, so that, when he is at home again, he can give them to a very special person :-) Author Reply: Oh Andrea, what a lovely idea!

Ah, delightful. And as Ithilien was known as the Garden of Gondor, I would be more surprised if athelas wasn't growing there! Lovely therapy for Frodo's hands, and I'm glad that Sam thought of adding athelas oil to the candles. Author Reply: Thank you! I've had hot wax therapy myself, and enjoyed it.

Oh, I love this! Sam's idea for the candles is a stroke of genius. Author Reply: Thanks, Addie! It was that one idea that inspired me to write the story. Good old Sam. :)

See if one of them can persuade Sam to dip his fingers into that hot, but not too hot, wax! =) I do believe that the hobbits will be going home with some new skills! I hope that Sam won't be too stubborn to learn them. Author Reply: I just may need to ensure that Sam gets more involved. Thanks, Kathy!

I am enjoying this gentle tale! Thank you. 😊 Author Reply: Thank you, Bitsay. Happy hobbits make me happy! I spent a lovely day today working on chapter 4. :)

Ooh, a cliffhanger! I admit I have no idea what they have planned for the candlewax to help Frodo, but I am intrigued and anxious to find out. I hope it won't be long until chapter 4!! Author Reply: I do love fluffy cliffhangers! I *hope* to start writing chapter 4 this week, even with visitors coming to town -- five cousins, one niece, and a couple of friends!

“Gimli, is there anything about this camp you don’t know?” Pippin asked in admiration. Gimli just chuckled, his eyes twinkling. That was a nice first meeting. And to make it perfect it ended with a cliff-hanger, one of the good sort ;-) Now I am really curious to find out more about the wax! Author Reply: Thank goodness some 'cliffies' are fluffier than others. I imagine Dwarves to be very resourceful and determined, and I know that Gimli would do anything for 'his hobbits'. Thank you, Andrea! :)

I'm so happy you finally have time to write again and to pick up this lovely tale. I can see these two men being brought into the magic of hobbit common sense, but still able to contribute their own wisdom to the benefit of all. I'm really enjoying this tale, my friend. - Erulisse (one L) Author Reply: What a lovely review, thank you. Being able to write again, a bit here and a bit there, is a vast improvement over the craziness of the past couple of months.
