This is soooo cuuuuute! There has to be a glitch with SOA alerts because I haven't seen these before. I'll have to go take a gander at the rest! :-) That's our Pippin--lol, forges ahead and doesn't look back. :-) Pippinfan Author Reply: The earlier ficlets were posted in 2004, but this new one was just added. That might be the reason you didn't see the others. Thank you for enjoying them!

"peered deeply into the child's eyes" and, no doubt into his soul. I always thought that Gandalf was as hard on Pippin all of the time as he was because he could see what Pip was capable of, and had a special spot for him. Delightful! Author Reply: I agree with you. Gandalf truly wanted Pippin and Merry on the Quest, and he no doubt 'saw' great potential in both of them.

Another great piece! "This one's different",indeed! I need to find again where it was and who wrote it, but somewhere I saw a story where the reason both why Elrond was not going to let Pippin go with the fellowship, and the reason why he did were both the same. He and Gandalf both saw in Pippin a force of nature which caused things to happen around itself. A catalyst, the center of the tornado, if you will. I think all of us who read about him and love his stories agree that someone as unique as Pippin had to be different all along. thank you for a look at his beginning. Author Reply: I think the story you're referring to is an older one of mine, "A Matter of Time". Thank you for remembering it!

"Yes, Billy. You can have whatever you want . . ." OH! We were discussing Pippin, weren't we! (It *IS* the accent :) ) Author Reply: Billy Boyd truly has the most captivating voice. What a lovely casting choice for our Tookish lad.
