SilentEagle · 16 December 2005 · Chapter 12
hmm... a great chapie by the way. So is the banging Treco? I don't think it is, well I suppose it could be... Perhaps is Treco's girl friend? Hmm... thats a thought, what would happen if Allura used the pendant on a dragon, would she breath fire. That brings me on to the next thing, I'm asuming that she can take energy, but if she takes Leggie's energy, will she be immortal? Or is she immortal already and she survives and stays young by taking other's energy, or even youth? Perhaps her old husband only appears old because she has taken his energy. Ok, I know I'm probably wrong. But your fic is so good! Merry Christmas, and a happy new year!
Author's reply
Thank you. I love all your speculations. I don't think Treco has a girlfriend, but then he's never discussed his private life with me. I don't think Allaura has used the necklace on him, though having her breathe fire is a funny image. She's already immortal and wants to stay that way. Her husband isn't really old, just worn out from her efforts to renew herself, although.... No I can't reveal that just yet. Sorry. I'n gald you are still liking the story. Thank you again.
Lianna · 4 December 2005 · Chapter 11
My guess is that Allaura IS the dragon, but that she needs to feed on the energy of others to maintain her human-like form. Of course, I also thought that John Kerry was going to be President of the United States. So what do I know?
Author's reply
I can tell you that Allaura isn't the dragon, although that's a very imaginative idea. I might have gone that way, if I had thought of it. Keep guessing!
Larner · 3 December 2005 · Chapter 11
Aha--she knows not whom or precisely what she has--merely an Elf and a Dunedan, eh? And she does harvest their strength for herself in some manner using the magic of the jewels, apparently. Interesting. Definitely a form of living necromancer, I suppose.
Author's reply
It's true she doesn't know our boys like we do. Has she finally met her match? There's more to it, but you have made a good guess. I'm glad you like it.
Anonymous · 3 December 2005 · Chapter 11
Hmm, ranger for dinner and elf for dessert, eh? I could think of worse diets. ~_^
Author's reply
Sounds like a great diet to me, just as long as they aren't gobbled up whole.
Jay of Lasgalen · 3 December 2005 · Chapter 11
She's a vampire who feeds on life force, rather than blood, I take it? Creepy. And where's the dragon? I think Legolas may have guessed ...
Author's reply
No and yes. Creepy is good, at least in this story. Legolas has indeed guessed.
harrowcat · 3 December 2005 · Chapter 11
Ooh, nasty, nasty, evil lady! Don't you touch my two favourite people! But where IS that dragon??!?
Author's reply
I see you don't like her, either. She is very nasty and very evil. Me? I didn't touch anyone. It's her, and it's too late to give a warning about Aragorn. To be honest, it's soon going to be too late for Legolas, too. Treco has shown up already. Think about it.
Alison H · 3 December 2005 · Chapter 11
Okay, I think I get what's going on with the neclace and the effect it's had on Aragorn. He's probably in shock because he knows he's been forced to do something against his will. Legolas has an idea what's causing the booming noise? Is it our friendly dragon? Why and how would Allaura have captured it, though? I'm really enjoying this story and can't wait for more Update soon!
Author's reply
So far Aragorn doesn't know what has happened to him. I imagine he will be unhappy when he finds out, though. Good guess. I'm afraid I can't answer your question just yet. It will be revealed later. Thank you. I'm gald you are liking the story. More soon.
SilentEagle · 3 December 2005 · Chapter 11
Looks like I'm the first review. Yey... ok I love guessing, I hope its not annoying. So if Allura wears the necklace and it touches a man (she's making love with?) she gets his energy. She wants Legolas because he has immortal life and therefore more energy, and the boom is perhaps the actual taking of the energy? It was a husband, but she was just using him to get his energy, and perhaps he's running out. She had to have 'top ups' and is needing more energy now than ever and so she randomly gets cute and energetic guys who are wandering around. Well thats my summary, its probablly all wrong, but ah well it keeps me occupied. I really love this fic, and I'll keep on reading and guessing.
Author's reply
Your guesses are not the least annoying. I love to hear what my readers are thinking. Allaura does use the necklace to get what she needs from her victims. However, she does not make love to them. (That's why she had Aragorn leave his pants on.) :o) The booming noise has nothing to do with what Allaura is doing. She was using her husband and wore him out, so she does need more victims. You had some hits and a couple of misses. I hope you do keep reading and guessing - and enjoying.
SilentEagle · 19 November 2005 · Chapter 10
Ok, time for more guesses! Are the statues the images of her victims? Perhaps the necklace gives her power. The booms... hmm... the booms.... has she just killed the guy in the bed, well its something to do with the necklace as there were just booms and she was just wearing the necklace. Oh I love this lovely fic. (and no I still don't have a clue whats going to happen but I like it that way... but I also like guessing!)
Author's reply
Two of your guesses are right on. Two are not. Of course, I can't tell you which is which right now. :o) But keep trying. I love to read what others think might be going on. Thank you.
sofia · 19 November 2005 · Chapter 10
She cut their tongues out!? UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Author's reply
I wanted something that would re-enforce the idea of how evil she is.
harrowcat · 18 November 2005 · Chapter 10
Ooh ooh watch your step Aragorn. Now were those booms anything to do with my favourite dragon? *g*
Author's reply
Aragorn reminds me of a fly caught in a spider's web. Poor guy. Booms = dragon. Interesting guess. Bit is it the right one?
Larner · 18 November 2005 · Chapter 10
She appears to be a necromancer of some sort or another who gathers power from the pain of others, and the jewels appear to help focus whatever power she gains. Are the statues the remains of her victims, I wonder? Allaura is definitely a nasty piece of work. And hope the dragon finds them soon!
Author's reply
You've made some good guesses. Of course, I can't tell you which ones are right and which aren't. That would spoil things. You are right about Allaura. As for the dragon... Well, I can't tell you that either. :o)
Legolass · 6 November 2005 · Chapter 9
I had been following this story at fanfic.net - and I don't know how a bunch of chapters slipped by me. Still very intriguing, and your cliffhangers are great! :-)
Author's reply
Sometimes chapters slip by me, too, so I put all the unfinished stories I'm reading on Story Alert. I'm glad you are still intrigued. Thank you. I like clliffhangers, as long as it isn't too long before the next chapter is posted.
SilentEagle · 5 November 2005 · Chapter 9
Poor guy, why did he give her earings if he was terrified of her? Perhaps he bribed his way to his own safety or ... um.... he loves to hate her! Poor Legolas, perhaps she's going to brainswash them and then release them... ok I'll admit don't have a clue whats going to happen.
Author's reply
Ah, you are assuming that the man in the bed is her husband. Maybe, maybe not. We'll just have to see. I like your guesses. The fact you haven't a clue means I'm doing my job and keeping the mystery alive. :o)
Larner · 4 November 2005 · Chapter 9
Very much a Black Widow type. Yecch! And if she intends to use Aragorn and/or Legolas as she does this poor fellow.... Shelob, can you take a human form?
Author's reply
I love speculation on what could be going on. You know, of course, that she's not Shelob, nor is she even a spider, but you are in the ballpark.
sofia · 4 November 2005 · Chapter 9
wooo! Each chapter gets better and better, I almost forget that there was a dragon in the beginning.
Author's reply
Thank you. I try to make my stories better as I go along. I haven['t forgotten about the dragon.
harrowcat · 4 November 2005 · Chapter 9
Oh dear. Locked vaults, sick elves, and an old woman who is suddenly looking alluringly young (never a good sign!) Are you sure that you are no relation to the brothers Grimm? Or Hans Christian Andersen? And where IS that stupid Dragon? *g*.
Author's reply
There does seem to be a collection of strange things going on, doesn't there? No, I'm not related to those illustrious people, but I'm honored you would even ask. :o) Don't worry. I haven't forgotten about Treco.
Larner · 21 October 2005 · Chapter 8
Very apt questions, of course. Think on it, Estel--consider indeed what this individual wishes from you. She obviously isn't getting your trust, and I doubt she deserves it. Keeping me enthralled.
Author's reply
Aragorn will feel better when he and/or Legolas can figure out the answers. No, she doesn't deserve to be trusted. We shall soon see why.
harrowcat · 21 October 2005 · Chapter 8
Well yes, we are all wondering the same things as Aragorn! This tale is beginning to get overtones of the Knights of the Round Table c/o Mallory etc. My alarm levels are on full alert. Now - where is that silly dragon hiding? Is he in thrall to this black-robed lady's husband? Or is this lady the dragon in disguise?
Author's reply
Your alert levels are right on target. Having the woman be the dragon in disguise is a clever idea, however, Treco is just a dragon, and the lady is... well, not a dragon. :o)
sofia · 21 October 2005 · Chapter 8
wicked good chapter. Really captured my attention, this chapter did.
Author's reply
Glad you liked it. Wicked is just beginning.
SilentEagle · 21 October 2005 · Chapter 8
Hmm... This evil/nice lady scares me, she is evil, evil ladies scare me Anyway, so rangers have been sent to her before? So she looking for Aragorn? Or perhaps not, and she doesn't have a pet dragorn that wants to fry people? I have too many questions, so you'll have to answer them and update, please update.
Author's reply
She'll show her true colors soon enough. Maybe she's going to save them from her husband. Maybe she wants to eat them herself, sicne she has no pet dragon to do it. Maybe... Ah well, I can't really explain yet, now can I? With luck, everything will be revealed by the time the story is over.
SilentEagle · 9 October 2005 · Chapter 7
Oh... Update, I don't reckon the dragon is going to swoop in and save them, but what is he going to do then i wonder? hmm... let me think, the dragon is actually evil woman's pet and he fries them with his flame. (lol)
Author's reply
I like to see my readers speculate. The pet idea is an interesting one. To be honest, I never thought of that. I swore after Cold Wind I'd never write another character death story, so Treco doesn't fry them. :o)
sofia · 6 October 2005 · Chapter 7
Ooohhh! Is she, like, some evil person who will use them for some weird experiment? Keep 'em coming!
Author's reply
She's evil, but there's no experiment involved. I will indeed keep 'em coming.
Larner · 6 October 2005 · Chapter 7
One of Morgoth's vampires, perhaps? Don't like this dark lady, whom I suspect is anything but.
Author's reply
Your guess is a good one, but she's not a vampire nor, as you suspect, is she a lady in the classy sense of the word.
