| Frodo is so precious and adorable here---can I tell you how much I loved the whole scene with him fearing Aragorn would have forgotten him? Absolutely adorable---especially Frodo being carried and placed in Aragorn's lap. *sighs blissfully* And I want to join in giving gift baskets to the ranger, too! | At last! Sunday afternoon is here. Too hot to tidy and clean or, worse, get the iron out, so what else is there to do but catch up with the reviews! What a chore! *g* Go Halbarad you are going to be great. I love his care for Scamp. Oh! An hour later after a phone call...... I am glad that Sam had the sense to get Frodo to Estel. Author Reply: It's very hot where I live, too! *melts* Yes, Sam was brave enough to say "no" to Frodo, and Frodo was smart enough to stay put until Halfred could come get him. :D | |

| Happy Scamp, baskets of food, bandaged Rangers and cuddly hobbits! What more could anyone ask? *happy sigh* Poor Frodo, so afraid he might have been forgotten - I'm so thankful that Aragorn remembered him, even if he doesn't remember he's the future King! He has his priorities in the right order! :-)) There was so much to adore in this chapter - the food left by concerned families who realise that the Ranger saved a lot of lives, Halbarad taking Scamp into the garden and leaving her a chew toy to play with when he left, Sam being the soul of discretion even now, Halfred's practicality....... Loved everything, Shirebound. Intended to review this before but was hit by the migraine from Mordor, so apologies for the delay. Author Reply: Awwww, thank you, BB! Aragorn certainly does have his priorities straight... reassuring his 'little one' is what really matters. Augh, migraines. I've had them for over 20 years, and completely understand. | |

| Aragorn smiled gently down at Frodo. “What did I tell you, little one, years ago when you were so ill?” “That I was unforgettable,” Frodo whispered. “You are,” Aragorn assured him. “Never doubt it, Frodo. You are.” Awww! That he is, unforgettable! Like Cuthalion, I was really taken with that little note "(scribed for) Lily Cotton" . Poor and unimportant families they may be, but particularly those families form the Shire, that I love so much :) I hope, Estel will be able to remember the "unimportant" things, too ;-) Author Reply: Thank you, Andrea! It was time we got to some cuddlyness. And no matter what the Shirefolk think of the mysterious Rangers, at least they now know that one of them is a good person who saved a lot of lives. | |

| Another wonderful chapter!! One thing I particularly love about this story is how well you show the traits each character possesses that will later be so important in LotR, for example Sam's discretion in not mentioning to Halfred what he had overheard. Poor Frodo with his fear of being abandoned and forgotten- but Aragorn knew exactly what to say, thank goodness! Author Reply: I'm so glad you're enjoying this! I do think we show our "qualities" early, and Sam was probably always a very sensible hobbit, with a keen sense of what is "appropriate" and what is not. | |

| This made me smile so much! I really loved the baskets and the notes--so very hobbity, and food would just naturally seem the right way to show gratitude from a hobbit! And Estel remembers Frodo. That has to be a load off Frodo's mind! Author Reply: That's what was bothering Frodo the most! Being injured and dizzy and hungry are nothing compared to his dear friend perhaps not remembering him. Yay, I'm glad this made you smile. :D | |
