This was so so so lovely! The parts about the harp made me cry. It must be so wonderful and poignant for Elrond to see it again! The feels were just too good. I've been tearing through the entirety of your "Quarantined" AU story stash and it's been most amazing. Thank you so much for your beautiful fics!

Author Reply: Oh my, thank *you* for such a lovely review. I loved writing this fic.

Yay, yay! I didn't think we would get to see Elrond w the harp, but I'm so glad you showed it! :-)

I really liked this story -- all the beautiful scenery, and the singing (you don't often see the twins singing, I like that aspect of Elladan), and the whole underlying Kingly theme. Very nice! :-)

Thanks for writing!

Author Reply: Thank you! I just loved writing this story. The gentle friendship between Aragorn and Frodo, as I imagine it in this AU, makes me so happy.

I'm so glad that Frodo's first adventure outside the bounds was so much nicer than Bilbo's first - and with people he liked and trusted rather than thirteen grumpy dwarves! I don't know as how it would really have worked as well with the story flow (in the trilogy as a whole) if Aragorn and Frodo had first met as you write it, but it is certainty nicer this way :)

And do you know that the spell checker on this site is rather odd? It wants to replace 'dwarves' with 'adwares'!

Author Reply: Oh no, those sneaky adwares! :)

I'm very glad you enjoyed this story.

I am rereading of stories and thought you might like this pic. It is supposedly Elladan and a harp

Author Reply: Thank you, I do like it! I appreciate you letting me know about this pic.

As you can see I've been enjoying re-reading your Quarantined series. I believe this is the last of them, but also one of my favorites. I love how you use Frodo's dream ability to help Aragorn find the hidden chamber (which he was obviously meant to find) and how Frodo starts putting pieces together after hearing the things Elladan says.

It was a joy to find at the end of the tale how when he said Aragorn about being forgotten once he was king, that Frodo was really teasing with the Ranger and had come so far in self confidence since first meeting Aragorn.

The Quarantined series is one of my favorite all time AUs. *hugs it*

Author Reply: Thank you, Addie! I wrote "Vault" as a finale to the Quarantined series because my wrists were getting so bad. I tried to bring everything to a conclusion and show how mature and confident Frodo had become. Perhaps someday there will be another "Q" tale, but I'm not sure yet.

These stories grew and evolved far beyond what I ever envisioned for them, and the fact that folks -- especially friends -- enjoy them brings me such happiness.

i think im about to try for the weirdest reveiw ever...
all you grey will intend glitter, not all those who wonder are lost
the old that is strong does not dither, deep roots are not reached by her frost
from the ashes a fire shall be woken,a light from the darkness shall spring
renewed shall be life that was colored, the crownless will regret all that dye.

another way to go on a different conversation. i kept thinking about pippin and merry and sam bringing their children north. how much aragorn manages to reclaim of those kingdoms could be inspiring if we didn't already know what he overcomes just to be there.amazing landscapes you paint. civilization removed but teeming with life.

Author Reply: "deep roots are not reached by her frost" -- That's great. :D

Thank you, Nancy, I'm glad you enjoyed this story. It was challenging and fun to write.

I hated seeing it end, but like most great tales, I knew I would.

Oh Good Grief!! Talk about a typo!!

Must proof read before hitting Post button...Must proof read before hitting Post Button....

Sheesh!! *smiles sheeplishly*

I am so sorry I've taken this long to review this, but what a wonderful ending to such a fantastic adventure. I hated seeing it end, but like most great tales, I knew I would.

For Frodo to invite Sam and his Family to Bag End to hear Elladan sing...*sigh* I so would have loved to have been there to have experienced that very special moment.

Same goes for when Elladan presented Elrond w/Elros' harp. To have something thought lost so very long ago being put into his lap must have given Elrond one of the greatest shocks he'd had in at least a thousand years. I can't even imagine how much having that harp would mean to him. Yet another reason for Frodo to meet Lord Elrond someday. So Elrond may properly thank Frodo for helping to bring back a very treasured family heirloom.

I hope we get to see Frodo presenting his Aunts w/the jewelry made from those Opals someday and the same w/Elladan gifting whatever he would make w/the ones he took from the Chamber to either Aragorn at his Coronation or Arwen on her Wedding Day. I very much hope we get to see that happen one of these days...

Trail of carrots for a bunny to follow? What trail? I haven't the foggiest idea what you could be talking about... *looks innocent in her corner* ;oD

Thank you so much for yet another wonderful adventure in the Q Universe. But especially for that lovely image of Viggo as Aragorn covered head to toe in our birthstone. Just thinking about that brings a grin to my face. Yes, I know. Viggo would not think the same way. :oD

Thanks again for another great story. When do we get to do it again? :o)

Author Reply: Thank you, Tigger! And as for the bunnies... you never know! I keep them all fed and watered, and occasionally one will leap out and sit on my keyboard until I pay attention. I won't be doing a lot of writing this year, regretfully, due to ongoing wrist problems, so... we'll see.

I'm so very glad you enjoyed this story. *showers you in opal dust*

Oh, that was the perfect, perfect ending! What a fitting way to show Bilbo composing the poem we're all familiar with---I love the way you merge canon with fanfic.

The entire thing was so happy and enjoyable---a trip Frodo no doubt remembered all his days. I felt so very warm and comforted while reading this... my RL problems just melted away. :)

Author Reply: Oh Lily, what a lovely thing to say. My very first impulse to write Frodo h/c back in 2002 came from a desire to somehow write things that might bring people the same comforting, warm feelings that their stories were giving me. *big hugs*

Will Estel's bootlaces ever be safe. I can see the elves in Revindale wondering what he does to get them in such a state. So sweet of Frodo to be worryed about if the rangers have enough money.
Elrohir has made someone very happy, with the return of the harp.

Author Reply: Ah, the Quest for new bootlaces! May Estel never have a more dire problem. :)
