I hate it when I miss one of these.

Excellent chapter. My skin crawls at the thought of what is to come.

Keep up the good work, my friend, it is a delightful and harrowing read - as always!

Author Reply: Thanks, Agape. I'm glad you're enjoying the story.

Another marvelous chapter! Very nice to see Glorfindel and Celepharn coming full circle and becoming friends. Such an interesting twist you've thrown us with interfering maiar. Glorfindel being the key.... Oh, the Valar have my sympathies! :)

Looking forward to more!

Author Reply: Thanks NiRi. I'm gald you enjoyed this chapter. Glorfindel is definitely the proverbial thorn in the Valar's side. Let's hope they all survive him. lol

Loved this and can't wait to see what happens on that tightrope walk!

(Not much of a review I am afraid as RL has me up to my neck so even reading time is stolen minutes.)

Author Reply: Thanks Harrowcat. I'm glad you were able to take the time to read and review in spite of RL getting in the way . I really appreciate it.

I am not sure if you are getting me more or more hooked or you are getting better and better.
Glorfi his old good self looking like a cat over a pot of cream and Finrod´s "It seemed like a good idea at that time",
Valar treating one of the Children as a such, only the child in the question being an adult warrior and a prince.
Good to know that they did not reapeted the mistake they had made with Feanor
Great chapter.

Author Reply: Thanks, naine. I really appreciate you letting me know how much you are enjoying this tale. I hope it's both (you getting hooked and I getting better *grin*).

The Valar do learn from their mistakes, which is why they are going slowly and carefully with this particular situation. We will see in the next chapter how it all comes out.

Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Wheee, new chapter! I swear, I'm getting a sixth sense about this story. At school today, I was all like, ' Hey, I bet there's going to be a new EI chapter up today!'to my friend ( who also reads this) and I was right. - smugsmile-

But, anywho, amazing writing as usual- you honestly rival Tolkien himself- and Celepharn is awesome. xD. And update soon. And I feel sorry for Lisselinde and Olorin. Oooh, hey, maybe Olorin got sent to M.E. as a punishment.

-ponders-

-tries to remeber what year it is currently in EI-

-decides that that probably won't happen and discards thought-

Author Reply: If you want to know it is the year 504 in the Second Age... Olórin still has almost 4000 years before he goes to ME. *grin*

Glad you liked this chapter. I generally update on a regular basis, usually once a week, so be patient. I do have two other WIPs that I'm writing and they take up some of my writing time, too.

I suppose this is a sort of ”Quiet before the storm” chapter, a buildup to the upcoming fun (in the next chapter?). And just what did Manwë tell Eönwë to tell the kings? Yes, I know, “Wait for the next chapter”. So I will _try_ to be patient.

Glorfindel and Celepharn’s activities reminded me of my childhood – taking planks, nails, a hammer and other stuff into the forest and building a cabin there … ;-) Heh, does _Celepharn_ know why he suddenly got a new roommate?

Talking about reminders – for some reason I am reminded of a poem by the Norwegian poet André Bjerke, called _Kjemisk Reaksjon(– that is _Chemical Reaction_ to those of you out there who don’t know Norwegian) about a meeting between potassium chlorate and red phosphorus. It fits well with chapter 24, it shall be interesting to see if it goes as well with upcoming chapters, particularly in view of Námo’s sudden bit of insight.

It seems that Glorfindel is as good at giving the Valar headaches when he isn’t doing anything in particular, as when he is neck deep in trouble. Just worrying about what he is going to do next seems to be sufficient for that. No wonder Manwë has assigned an extra nanny, I mean guard. Well, I suppose what they are really worrying about is Glorfindel’s status as a catalyst, or whatever it is he is intended to be. And keeping the two halves of the Dynamic Duo (Glorfy and Finrod) apart from each other right now is as much common sense as keeping the two halves of the above mentioned chemical reaction apart.

I also look forward to seeing just _what_ Nienna has in store for Aldundil and Vorondil (and Ingwion).

Author Reply: We will learn (eventually) just why Glorfindel is where he is and what Nienna has in store for Aldundil, Vorondil and Ingwion and what the Valar plan to do with Finrod. The next chapter will detail the Judgment of the Maiar.

The elflings will love the flet. And I imagine the Reborn will love it also -- tree-climbers that they all seem to be! And doubtless various of the artistic elves would have fun painting it ... but then again, Irmo prefers natural-color vegetation, so I rather doubt the flet will be painted (unless very conservatively); too bad! Hm -- plenty of room in that grove for additional flets: nice large trees....

"impinge" seems to have lost its "e."

"With Tilion, actually" -- If Eärendil has been replaced by a Real Astronomical Planet, what about Tilion? [Though I assume the Real Astronomical Planet still somehow involves a Silmaril, so the unmistakable quality of the light remains unchanged, not to mention the air-water-fire symbolism of the Silmarils' fates.]

Wondering about Arafinwë's history....

You might want to add "indyo" to your translations in the final A/N. (Yes, it's obvious from the context -- plus I looked it up.)

It sounds as if there's to be a public trial.

Just want to say that I have NO IDEA why Glorfindel is in Lórien.

Author Reply: Well Tilion has been replaced by a Real Astronomical Planet as well... You notice I didn't specify *where* they met with Tilion... and most likely the Maia is still supervising the Moon just as Arien supervises the Sun.

I defined 'Indyo' in EI1 and refuse to repeat myself. Anyone who's reading EI2 should already have read EI1. And as you said, it's clear from the context what the word means anyway. And if they still don't get it then they can look it up just as you did. *grin*

Thanks for letting me know that 'impinge' was misspelled.

So they found the two Maiar. Seems I guessed right that Olórin mainly went missing because he tried to prevent Lisselindë from making things worse for herself, though I still wonder (and worry) what will happen to them now.

Of course you realise now I’m bursting with curiosity what Manwë is up to when even Eönwë shivers about the message he has to deliver, don’t you?

Hm, Celepharn is much nicer now, and it seems to do Glorfindel a world of good to get to play with him. The fleet seems a lovely idea. Though this line made me laugh: "And if they let us, or rather me, near any... um... tools." Glorfindel is under no illusions, is he? *grin*

Glad Finrod made his peace with the elflings and even told them he considers to keep Veryandur and Eruanna there longer. I’d certainly not object, as I have a soft spot particularly for Veryandur.

Indis is quite formidable and I can understand very well why Finrod would prefer to be somewhere else, but at least I agree with her about Almáriel ;-)

Well, I can see why Ingwion was upset. Of course he’s overdue at Nienna’s, but to be sent off without explanations isn’t the best way. That he decided to go on his own free will after he was told the whole tale proves that, I think. (And I loved the bit with the chair for Námo *lol*)

The end of the chapter does a great job in making me worried again ... I’m still not sure what exactly is going on *sigh* And I don’t like that they think Glorfindel will be the key. What do you have in store for my favourite balrog-slayer this time?

Author Reply: Hi Kitty. Well we'll see very shortly just what will happen to the two Maiar and just why Námo thinks Glorfindel is the key to everything (but of course he has to be the key to everything or there wouldn't be a story, would there? *grin*).

I think Indis had to rather formidable, considering her history. And of course she's very good at making her grandchildren feel like elflings even when they are adults. Still, I think in the end Indis will be a good ally to Finrod. She's definitely someone you want on your side when push comes to shove.

What in the whole of Ardar are those rascal Valar plotting now? Poor Glorfindel. I fear trouble is heading his way again.

Author Reply: We'll find out soon enough, never fear.
