Elf, Interrupted: Book Two: Glorfindel's Quest  by Fiondil 13 Review(s)
EdlynReviewed Chapter: 26 on 9/29/2008
Well, I made it safely back from A Long Expected Party (I wish you could have attended!)and found this chapter up. An excellent read as always, meldonya. I'm looking forward to seeing what is in store for Vorondil and Aldundil and am worrying very much about the upcoming Judgment. And like everyoine, I want to find out what Glorfindel is doingin Lorien. Though, I'm finding myself strongly suspecting that his developing friendship Celepharn has something to do with it (or I might be wrong...).

Finrod's apology to the elflings and their response to him were lovely to read. I liked the silent conference they had before giving him the group hug and of course I like the idea of the two youngest sticking around.

Igwion needs to watch his mouth, though. He was pretty arrogant there for a bit. Thank you for the little touch of humour about Námo bringing his own chair since he hadn't been invited to the meeting.

Great job!

Edlyn

Author Reply: Glad you enjoyed ALEP, Edlyn. I wish I could've attended too. Well, maybe another time. Anyway, we will see what Nienna has in store for Vorondil and his atar (and Ingwion) and we will learn why Glorfindel is in Lórien as well. I think Ingwion is feeling put upon and pretty much left out of everything interesting. He rather resents being treated like an elfling (or so he thinks) and let's face it, Námo and Irmo were just a little highhanded themselves.

I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter. Thanks for reviewing.

So Glorfindel is in Lorien for a reason but only Atar knows, looks like he is drawing crooked again!
I hope Lissalinde and Olorin do not get in too much trouble, Namo's little 'chats' can have distubing consequences, for the 'chatee's' and those around them!
I think Irmo should have Glorfi and Finda clean up the grove and apologise to the trees and Yavanna for damaging them, I think between them he and Namo and Manwe should have enough Maia to ensure there are no problems letting them use 'tools'!
I hope Glorfindel and Calaphern enjoy themselves building the talan, if any thing it will keep them out of trouble and gainfully occupied!
I also think Manwe is wise to get the Eldar kings involved in this, it is not the sort of thing one can announce after the fact , Oh, one of the Maia did something that they should not have involving some of the first born, but it's all been taken care of, so don't worry about it!
More please,
Lynda

Author Reply: Manwë realizes that the gravity of the situation precludes the Valar from keeping the incident 'under wraps', because it won't stay that way anyway. Eventually the story will get out and things would just be worse all around. Making the Judgment public will hopefully send a message to various parties that no one is above Judgment so step carefully. Of course, what the elves' reactions to the Judgment will be remains to be seen. Not everyone will be impressed by the Valar's gesture.

There is obviously something Glorfindel needs to learn, teach, or see done--probably all of the above, actually.

Now, to learn just what! And they're building a flet? Why am I not surprised?

Author Reply: You are correct that it could very easily be all three -- learn, teach or see done. We will find out soon enough. *grin* Thanks for reading and reviewing, Larner. I appreciate it.
