A Long-Expected Wedding  by Fiondil 15 Review(s)
KittyReviewed Chapter: 28 on 12/26/2011
Why do I suspect Amarieë's problem is that she thought Finrod was fine with the horrible taste her mother showed in everything and was angry at him for allowing it? And I am happy that Arafinwë put his foot down about the china and Almáriel's behaviour. Being Noldóran has its use, no doubt :D

But poor Finrod. On top of everything that happened lately, that had to be too much for him. No wonder he reacted the way he did!

Hm, I was not exactly right, I see. How noble of her! Or not, depending on if she did it just to punish Almáriel. And I have to admit, I was smirking because they had so many witnesses when she laid all the blame on the balrog. No one deserved it more ...

So now the Noldóran is the one who needs some comforting ... not really surprising, after his brother and nephews being thrown at him like that on top of all the other incidents. I think we are all glad when that wedding is over!

Author Reply: I think Amarië had just had enough of her mother's interference in her wedding and ran away to get away from her. It's unfortunate that Finrod got caught in the middle but at leas the air has been cleared and they've made up.

And Arafinwë's break down was long overdue. Now that is over with he can go on himself.

And EVERYONE will be glad when this wedding is finally over. LOL!

Thanks for commenting, Kitty.

Hey, Tari - I am sure the wedding china set would be perfect to use for target practice! ;-) and that would also make hitting the targets very obvious - and soooo satisfying! :-D

Author Reply: Hey Sunny - we'll all find out what they end up doing with the china in the last chapter, never fear. *grin*

I take back any bad thoughts I had of Amarië. She knows her mother better than anyone, except her father. Her plan worked in that the horrible clothes will never be worn and the aweful dishes never used. It's a shame to waste pottery this way. I can't help wondering if there is a way for them to be recycled.

Arafinwe still seems to be fighting with his insecurities. It takes time to overcome so may obstacles. He just needs a little patience.

Author Reply: Hi Tari. Amarië knows what she's about, although I think she should've told Finrod her plans. And Arafinwë does still have a few insecurities especially now that his older brother has been reborn. As for the china... just wait and see. *grin* Thanks for reading and reviewing. It's greatly apprecated.

Life remains interesting! And Amariel does appear to have a nasty, vindictive streak to her--and NO taste at all! Heh!

Author Reply: Very interesting indeed, Larner. And I think we all agree that Almariel is a piece of work. Thanks for reading and reviewing. It's very much appreciated.

*late review is late* Oh me oh my, such a confusion! Really, Finrod & Amarie should've just eloped, and saved all the heartache (and poor Arafinwe's headache)! Am glad that things are mostly sorted now tho!

Author Reply: Hey, bookworm. Better late than never. *grin* I'm sure that by this point a whole lot of people, incuding Finrod and Amarië, are wishing they'd eloped. *grin* We'll see in these last chapters just how the wedding itself goes. The story isn't quite over yet. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it.

Ok - sorry I haven't been reviewing the last few chapters. I have read them, but usually around 8ish in the morning and only with my Droid. Which makes writing reviews hideous.

Now - didn't a tell you many chapters back that this family needs a whole cadre of counselors!!!

Glad Manwe came to help. Glad Amarie took back her ugly words. Glad Finrod was able to accept her reasons.

BUT - you wrote in reply to someone that Amarie only is marrying Finrod to get away from her mother??? Say it's not true. Or else have Varda intervene and get him away from Amerie's claws!

Also - I did struggle with Amerie being the one who has suffered. She did, but just about the same as everyone else who 'lost' someone to Feanor's madness.

Living with Almariel and her designs could sour the woman.

As for Glorfindel - isn't he awesome! Takes care of his gwador!

Just a joy to wake up on Wednesday's and know this is going to beep on my phone soon.

Author Reply: Hi Agape. Well, I'm sure getting away from her mom isn't the only reason Amarie is marrying Finrod. *grin* She truly does love him, which is why she was willing to call off the wedding in an attempt to protect him from Almariel. And Glorfindel is always awesome. He could be nothing less and nothing else. *grin* Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

I know I'm voicing a very unpopular opinion here, but what exactly ought Amarië have to be grateful for? After all that she'd had to put up with where Finrod is concerned, starting with being left behind and continuing with all that's happened after his rebirth, I'm still surprised that she was willing to marry him in the first place.

Author Reply: Hi Soledad. Well, I'm sure some people must agree with your estimation of Amarië, though I think you and they would be in the minority. *grin* Of course, in "Elf, Interrupted" and in "The Findarato Diaries" she doesn't come out as well and we see her frustration and resentment showing itself there, but over time she and Finrod have refallen in love and when you're in love, all the bad stuff before doesn't seem to matter as much, I suppose. At any rate, I suspect Amarië just wants to get away from her mother and marrying Finrod is the way to do it. *grin* Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it.

Atto,

I knew it had to be a trick of some kind!!!! But poor Arafinwe, breaking down like that...I guess I knew that was going to happen sooner or later too, poor ellon. *hugs Arafinwe*

I can't wait for next week...my Monday and Friday doses of fic have disappeared, Atto. :( *sighs* *hugs* I wish I could have more of this one!!

Tye-melin,

Kaylee

Author Reply: Hi Kaylee. Yes, it was a trick on Amarië's part. And Arafinwë was long over-due for a breakdown. And I'm sorry I don't have another story for you to read yet, but Elf Academy 2 isn't ready to be posted, but it will be in a few more weeks. Just hang in there. Tye-melin.

Well, at least Amarie thought the outfits and china were as hideous as everyone else did. How did such a sweet girl get such an unbearable mother anyway? I fully realize how emotions at weddings can get out of hand, but adding the three newly reborn to the mix just made things even worse. What a mess. I can't wait until I read the next chapter :-)

- Erulisse (one L)

Author Reply: Hi Erulisse. So we now know that Amarië has good taste even if her mother doesn't. LOL! Unfortunately, as Manwë pointed out to Arafinwë releasing the three Reborn was the only option available in order to keep Finrod from doing what he shouldn't and just make things worse. At least they just have to get through tomorrow's ceremony and then it's over. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I really appreciate it.

The scene at the beginning on the steps of the palace was hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing. Finally, someone stopped Almariel(sp?). I don't know how her husband can stand her. Probably with a lot of humor. She must have not so openly visible qualities. At least she seemed to have raised Amarie responsibly (or was that all her father's doing?). Although, that was a cruel "joke" to play on Finrod.

The second part was more ominous. What is Manwe playing at? I can understand Arafinwe's anger and disappointment of not being notified that his brother was released. It sounds odd that Finrod was the one to welcome them .

Author Reply: Hi Obsidianj. I'm glad you found the opening scene hilarious. As for the second part, I doubt Manwë is playing at anything. He is simply genuinely concerned for Arafinwë's well-being and emotional state. And if you recall, Finrod was accompanied by Glorfindel and Sador, so you had three "older" Reborn taking three "younger" Reborn in hand. Finrod doesn't have the emotional ties with Nolofinwë that Arafinwë would have, nor any ambivalent feelings about their relationship, both on a persona level and on a governmental level. Sending Finrod to bring his uncle and nephew home was probably the safest thing to do under the circumstances.

Thanks for commenting. It's much appreciated.
