A Long-Expected Wedding  by Fiondil 14 Review(s)
TariReviewed Chapter: 29 on 12/26/2011
Intarion and Ingalaurë are both reborn? I thought only one died. What did I miss?

I can't wait to find out what the wedding garbs look like. Something stupendous I am sure.

Author Reply: Hi Tari. You probably forgot that Intarion (mentioned throughout "Elf, Interrupted") died during the War of Wrath trying to protect Arafinwë. He was reborn at the same time as Ingalaurë (see the end of EI2).

And hopefully you will be pleased by the new wedding garb.

Thanks for reading and reviewing. I really appreciate it.

So Isildil is still plotting revenge? And he thinks he can do it without getting himself suspected? I really hope that's backfiring spectacularly and he thrown out of the guild indefinitely. I wonder if Marilla is giving him this task because she suspects what he is planning? Oh well, we'll know soon.

Hach, I always had a sneaking suspicion that, if Amarië was actually fleeing to Tol Eressëa, she was going to try on her wedding gown made by Finrod's old friend – who most likely is doing his own as well.

Oh, you included my favourite elflings into the ceremony! Great! I was already beginning to miss them, particularly Veryandur.

Now I can't wait for Almáriel to see that everyone has better taste than she has! Though I admit, no matter how much I look forward to the wedding, I am still nervous what will happen this time, even with all the Maiar and other help around to avoid just that ...

And now I'm all caught up and have to wait for the day after tomorrow for the next chapter :(

Author Reply: And now I'm all caught up. LOL!

We'll see what Isildil is up to in the next chapter and the wedding garb will also be described in detail in the next chapter as well so you can compare it to what Almáriel had planned.

Thanks for reading and reviewing, Kitty. It's much appreciated.

And what, one wonders, is Isidil up to? He can't make it TOO ugly, or his reputation will suffer (and he strikes me as the sort to haaaate that)... Can't wait to 'see' what the new & improved wedding outfits look like!

Author Reply: Hi Bookworm. Well, we'll all find out in a few more days.*grin* And you're not the only one who is looking forward to seeing what the new wedding garb looks like. Hopefully you won't be disappointed. Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it.

ROTF -- You have got to be kidding me! I truly believe it is plausible that someone so boldly angry ar Finrod could be given such a chance at revenge--yet I'm pulling my hair out. You know how to keep your readers on the edge of our seats!

? Wasn't Ingwion made the Noldoran's heir a long time ago?

Great story!

Author Reply: Hi Agape. I'm glad you find it plausible that Isildil would still want to take his revenge on Finrod. And you're thinking of Intarion. Ingwion is still Ingwë's heir. Intarion became Arafinwë's heir then died during the War of Wrath. With Finrod returning in the meantime he automatically resumed his position as Arafinw's heir. I suspect that Intarion is just as happy not being anyone's heir anymore now that he's been reborn. Thanks for commenting and I hope you have some hair left by the time I post the next chapter. *grin*

I am so glad that Morwen had been indulging her creative energies so, giving her more time to finish what needed finishing in time for the ceremony. And I can certainly appreciate Nolofinwe's disturbance at the thought of vows!

Author Reply: Hi Larner. I'm glad she was too. And Nolofinwë... well, hopefully someday he'll get over being disturbed to see people giving their oaths, after all, he will be giving his to Arafinwë soon enough. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it.

Down to the wire at last! Just remember - the Valar aren't allowed to outshine the bride on her wedding day - maybe not the groom either (who notices the groom?). I'm wondering how the ex-head cook can think he can get away undetected with messing up something for which he is solely responsible - be interesting to see how that turns up. Awaiting the next chapter eagerly. Merry Christmas!

Author Reply: Hi Rick. Don't worry, the Valar know better as we will see. As for Isildil... well we'll just have to wait and see, won't we? *grin* Merry Christmas to you as well and thanks for commenting.

Atto,

It's been a long week. I wonder what Isildil's up to? *frowns at him* I don't trust him in the least. *shakes head* He'd better not try to ruin the wedding cake.

Nolofinwe's upset is understandable, so I'm glad Arafinwe and the elflings were there to help out. (Aside: YAY! The elflings return!!! Aww, they're almost grown up now. Almost. *grin* I have missed them! I wonder if Veryandur still has Narmolle, or if he gave Narmolle to Uncle Vondo? *grin*)

I loved the wedding rehearsal otherwise, and I'm so glad the ceremony will be conducted even partially in Sindarin.

*finds self wondering if the Crooked Street looks anything like Lombard Street in San Francisco* O_O...holy cow.)

I wonder what the garb looks like! I can't believe I have to wait until AFTER Christmas to find out!! But! I am saving the final chapter of EA rereading for Christmas. You'll see. It'll be like a present. =D

*is looking forward to Elf Academy's sequel*

Merry Christmas, Atarinya. Tye-melin. Tye-meluvan illúmë. (I hope I got that right. :) )

Kaylee

Author Reply: Hi Kaylee. Your Quenya is impeccable and very correct. Congratulations. And the Crooked Street is based somewhat on Lombard Street and somewhat on the Shambles in York. We'll find out about the garb in the next chapter. I thought it would be more appropriate to describe it on the day of the wedding itself. And I look forward to your review of the final chapter of EA on Christmas.

Merry Christmas, yendenya. Tye-melin.

One of the things that first attracted me to you in EI one and two was your wonderful description of clothing and fabrics. I wish I had pictures, but I will have to hope that you don't stint on the wedding clothing. My mind needs pictures :-)

The cake - oh dear, this could be a disaster. It's a good thing that despite any decorations, the interior of the cake will taste good. It's also a good thing that we have the Valar and Maiar in attendance so that the worst of the hatred might be deflected. What a shame to try and ruin such a beautiful and long-awaited festive occasion.

Can't wait for next week...and then you promised me more Elf Academy (can you hear my squeeees all across the countryside?).

- Erulisse (one L)

Author Reply: Hi Erulisse. Not to worry. The wedding garb will be described in the next chapter. Hopefully you won't be disappointed. As for the cake... that remains to be seen what Isildil does with it and what follows from it. That will take up the next two chapters actually. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much and thanks for the Christmas card. It's very lovely.

So you write that rumors have been spreading in the palace about the wedding possibly being canceled. On my part, I think that the entire city, and the environs as well, have been carefully following the soap opera that is the wedding prepartions, dissecting the hijinks of the principals and the families with great delight. Elves have eternity to gain skill in the arts and crafts - why not gaining skill in the art of Gossip as well? ;-)

Ooookay - that orcling Isildil is plotting revenge, is he? He may plot, and he may perhaps even get his plans partly under way, but I don't think Marilla is going to let him get away with that. I have definite suspicions about her identity. *raises an eyebrow at the author* So she would be perfectly able to squelch any of his tricks - or perhaps allow him to measure out just enough rope to hang himself - or the culinary equivalent thereof. Though it will be interesting to see just what his plans are. If he plans something that will harmonize with Almáriel's wedding china, it would have the potential for causing rather ... unfortunate ... effects among the Reborn wedding guests - of which there are quite a number - not to mention that the groom himself is Reborn!
Well, if he does succeed in whatever his plan is, he can certainly kiss his career goodbye! talk about cutting off his nose to spite his face! :-p

So now Nolofinwë has had his wedding-flashback. Like Finrod during the tournament in EI1 he was set off by oaths - and Finrod would certainly be able to sympathize and give comfort. And it was rather amusing that none of the elflings batted an eye at that reaction. But that sort of Reborn reactions would certainly be old hat for them!

I take that the garb Finrod and Amarië are actually going to wear is in somewhat better taste than what Almáriel had made for them? ;-) but we'll have to wait an entire week to get a description! (Unless you release the next chapter early, as a Christmas present... :-P ) ;-)

Author Reply: Hi Sunny. Sorry, but it's important that I stick to my original posting schedule. I'm afraid you'll just have to hang in there until next Wednesday. Hopefully you will actually like the garb that Morwen created for the bride and groom. *grin* Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much. And Merry Christmas.

OK, I can't wait. I'm waiting for something to happen. You have built such a tense scenario that I'm very nervous, the anticipation is killing me.

How Isildil can be so stupid?

Author Reply: Hi Fantasia. Well as Forrest Gump would say "Stupid is as stupid does" and Isildil is a prime example of it. We'll see how it turns out in the next chapter. Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it.
