I love how the sweetness and light of the Valley grew as the hobbits journeyed deeper in, and how at last the singing, relief and sleepiness gently overcame them. Author Reply: Thank you. I never tire of imagining things from a hobbit's POV.

This last part of their journey was terrible, at least. May they now find rest. Author Reply: I'm always relieved when they reach Rivendell. :)

Scary and soothing both. Poor Sam! "When at last the path opened up to reveal a fair valley, bathed in light and alive with the sound of fountains and birds, he wondered if he was dreaming, at least." That beautifully describes a first glimpse of Rivendell. Author Reply: Thank you, my friend. It's always a relief to me when they arrive safely (more or less) in Rivendell. It's a very special place.

Poor dear Sam, so worried about Frodo and so weary himself. Phew- I'm glad they've all made it safely to Rivendell. Interesting how Glorfindel handled the Ring. It's something I never thought about before. Still all those gaps to fill! :-) Thank you! Author Reply: May the gaps (and the urge to fill them) go ever on and on! :)

> After awhile, a group of Elves joined them, singing softly as they walked. They brought fruits, ripe and crisp on the tongue, and bread warm and sweet, and soon the hobbits sharpest hungers were eased. As they travelled, the air grew warmer and the sun seemed to sparkle more brilliantly through the trees. The Last Homely House ... a very apt name indeed *sighs* Author Reply: I wish we could all visit there. *sighs with you*

Poor Sam. It is all too easy to forget what an ordeal all this must have been for the Hobbits. I'm worried now if Aragorn will turn to the dark side! Author Reply: It must have been tremendously difficult for the hobbits to keep up with the pace necessary to get to the border of Rivendell before it was too late for Frodo.

What a fine welcome they received in Rivendell! And Sam thinking that he's dreaming or has died! And when he saw old Mr. Bilbo standing on the steps of a grand house, and heard his voice, he was sure of it. No wonder at all :-) But what about Sam? He was near Aragorn and he heard the words in the Black Speech. I have a feeling that he is more than just exhausted... Author Reply: Safe at last, at least for the moment. I hope to spend my Thanksgiving break daydreaming about "what happens next". What fun! Thank you for reading, Andrea.

So glad to see another chapter! Poor Sam with being sick and all. He will at least get part of his wish when he wakes up, but alas not all of it. I love this little gapfiller part. Author Reply: Thank you, Antane. What a joy to make sure our hobbits receive gentle care.

A lovely chapter. After such gruelling journey it's no wonder that they're all exhausted and that Sam is feeling sick and thinking it was a dream. Hopefully, he'll soon remember it wasn't, and hopefully, Aragorn will prove to be much stronger than the Nazgūl takes him for. Author Reply: There is always hope! *grins*

Uh oh, what an interesting story. Creepy, sad and horrific all at once. I like it very much, even if I“m not a hobbit fan, but your descriptions of the little ones have caught my eye and heart. Glorfindel is great as always and has any right to wonder and worry. Looking foreward to the next chapters. Thank you. Lai Author Reply: Thank you for reading, Lai. The "little ones" have always been dear to my heart, especially their interactions with the Big Folk. I'm glad you're enjoying this.
