I have finally got back to this! I wondered what would happen when Gandalf spoke those words and there we have it. That's interesting that Frodo was able to see it. And surprising that the evil force had the sense to quiet itself. Love of course Sam's words about Frodo needing food and rest. Now happily moving onto the next chapter... Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: Thank you, Antane. I'm hard at work on chapter 8, which I hope to post in a few days. I'm happy you're enjoying this.

And how will they deal with this parasitic spy in Aragorn's mind, I wonder? Time to take even more counsel for Aragorn's spiritual safety. Author Reply: Aragorn is blessed to be surrounded by wise and solicitous friends.

Oh, poor Glorfindel! But thank goodness he was watching so closely and caught Frodo's reaction to whatever was happening with Aragorn. I love how you weave what actually happened at the Council into your story, though in a dark and shuddery way. Author Reply: Thank goodness he was at the Council, and not out guarding the borders. Now events can progress from the dark and shuddery and back to the light... eventually. :)

> a long and peaceful walk in this fair valley, breathing in the crystalline air. He longed for the refreshment of the singing of bright birds and the sweet mists of sparkling waterfalls, and the trees would welcome him home with their slow, measured voices. When night fell, he would bathe in the starlight that shone here as in no other place east of the Sea. Now that's an exquisite description of Rivendell. Lovely. Poor Glorfindel, he's in such a bad place now, isn't he? Author Reply: Rivendell does seem like a very special place. I'm glad you like the way I think an Elf would feel about it.

Love it~ really enjoy the little cliffhanger you left with us at the end. I can't wait to see what happens and to know what the big mistake is! Keep going, Janet! =) Great job!!! Author Reply: Thank you, my friend. I'm really happy you're enjoying the story. I hope to start writing chapter 5 this weekend. *beams*

Now that is truly scary, Shirebound. A dark shape hovering over Aragorn......... Eeeeek!!! I have to read this while peeking through my fingers - not a typical Shirebound story. I hope my favourite Elf can sort it out and get rid of the Ringwraith quickly, before he does any damage to either Aragorn or Frodo. Author Reply: Sorry about the finger-peeking, BB! I have no doubt that we'll eventually be sloshing around in comfort and fluff.

Oh dear! A shadow looming over Aragorn! At least Glorfindel is on the right track and soon Gandalf and Elrond will know about the danger, too. I very much liked the last sentence: “Elrond, Gandalf…” Glorfindel sighed. “Once every Age… or so… I have been known to make a catastrophic mistake. I regret this may be one of those times.” Great one! Author Reply: Thanks! It isn't easy for an Elf to be both humble and arrogant in the same sentence, but I think he just managed it. :)

Teachers talk about plot and how to weave it to make a story. You go further by weaving the theme throughout and thus causing near heart failure in your readers. Well done! Author Reply: Oh my, thank you so much. Keep that heart pumping until Aragorn's friends can get everything resolved! :)

Oh, dearie, this is so chilling. It's very scary to imagine a dark shadow looming over Aragorn in the counsel. It's very interesting to have Glorfindel's story like this. Author Reply: Luckily for Aragorn, he has many concerned and wise friends who will try to help him.

You've got me in suspense and eagerly awaiting what Glorfindel has to tell them and how they will solve this. Author Reply: Thank you. A grand compliment to any author is, "And what happens next??"
