the dream sounds frightening and the intensive presence of Elves shows that it is not something to be ignored but maybe the Elves should let some room for Alex to sort his thoughts out. Their comments do not really help poor Alex. Nightmare or not, what would I give to be cared for by so many elves...sigh. Lai Author Reply: Hi Lai. Yes, the dream was probably very frightening, and you are correct that the comments of the Elves were not helping Alex at all, but I agree, that it would be nice to be cared for by so many elves. grin Thanks for reviewing. Oops. Didn't mean to submit an empty review. blushes "Tall, dark and handsome", that made me laugh. What is so wrong about that? It is true, at least according to my mental image. To a human, who is usually less handsome than an Elf, the impression must have been even stronger! I don't know what led Amroth into becoming a spy in the first place, but I am getting the feeling that the way he trained Alex/Artemus, he has tried to protect his "human" side. Alex is maybe the person he would be if he never joined the Agency. Dan sounds so much like his father sometimes. Alex' sleepiness and nightmares reminds me of the sleepiness that the newly Reborn experience. The near death experience must be as close as a human can come to that. Maybe, through the drowning of his dark side, he has regained some innocence in the same way as a Reborn does? end of sleep deprived rambling Author Reply: Hi Siiw. It happens. I couldn't resist the "tall, dark and handsome" remark; it was too good not to use. grin We'll learn more of how Amroth became involved in espionage soon enough. And you're right that Amroth did try to protect Artemus' humanity as much as possible. That's an interesting observation about Alex's sleepiness and nightmares. I hadn't thought about it in that respect, but it certainly is plausible given the circumstances. Thanks for sharing your views on this and thanks for leaving a review. I appreciate it very much.

Atto, Poor Alex...or Artemus, but for some reason I like him better as Alex, lol. I think he couldn't do better than to join forces with the Elves, of course. If it gets that annoying idiot off their backs, so much the better. Maybe they should just throw him in the tarn. Did Maddy send him to keep an eye on the ethir neth or did he come of his own volition? Anyway, hopefully Alex and the elves get rid of the pest soon and ferret out the other spy so that they can get on with fixing Alex's problems. Friday can't come soon enough. =) Tye-melin! Kaylee Author Reply: Hi Kaylee. Farrell was sent on Maddy's orders, but he may be working outside accepted parameters at this point. We'll have to see how it goes. The plot gets moving faster and faster. The elves should leave Alex some room to breathe. It is nice that they want to help and have compassion, but I think Alex might feel crowded. He still has a way to go before he is ready to accept the truth. I loved the idea of joining with the elves to get rid of Farrell. But that still leaves the question who else is a spy at EA. Author Reply: The Elves are very concerned for Alex, but you're probably right that Alex may be feeling a bit crowded, and outnumbered as well. And who else may be a spy is something that will need to be addressed eventually, but right now, the Elves are concentrating on Alex who really needs their help whether he knows it or not. Poor Alex seems very subdued; he's certainly found himself well out of his reckoning! He has to find the dreams and "treatment" frightening and confusing. I hope he'll find understanding and acceptance of his new reality soon. But I am wondering if the Agency has some "paranormal" branch that is also keeping an eye on the tarn - that might explain all the other agents in a sleepy little place like Wiseman. Can't wait for the next chapter! Author Reply: Hi Lyana. A paranormal branch... now that has possbilities. grin We'll see how Alex fares while he's with the Elves and how he handles learning the truth when he does soon enough. Having him spend the weekend with them is the perfect opportunity for them to reveal who they are a little bit at a time. Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it very much.

I can certainly understand it if Alex would prefer to stay away from the wilderness for a while. If I were in his shoes, I would have hightailed it away from forests and lakes as fast as I would - and I grew up in the countryside, on the shore of a lake!!! :-) Did Glorfindel have anythng to do with the renovations on the mansion? In EI he was completely fumble-fingered when it came to building, though perhaps he has learned a few things over the millennia since then. At a guess, the weekend is going to be full of revelations for alex. It will be interesting to see how it goes. I wondered about the human version of Cennanion's name - I am rather relieved it was not Ken - for then you would almost have needed a Barbie, and no self-respecting elleth would want to be called that! ;-) Author Reply: I'm with you, Sunny. I would be hightailing it to the nearest big city so fast it wouldn't be funny and I grew up in the country, too. grin I doubt Glorfindel had anything to do with the renovations, except maybe in a supervisory role or merely as a consultant. Others with more skill probably handled the renovations. And I had originally thought to have Cennanion's Mortal name be Ken but decided it was too obvious and I like Conan better. And for all I know, the Elf may be a fan of the Conan the Barbarian stories and movies and that's why he adopted that name. grin Thanks for leaving a comment. It's very much appreciated.

"Who are you, alone and nameless?" asked Tom Bombadil of Frodo, or words to that effect. Seems Alex needs to answer that question for himself. And perhaps he needs to learn of a small Hobbit scholar who long ago found himself taken by something that sought to put that evil smile not only on his lips but all through his soul. And now Ryan is Amroth again.... Fascinating, as Spock would say. But then, the Elves and Spock would probably get along well, although he would find their ability to be merry inexplicable. I don't think Vulcans are merry very often. Heh! Author Reply: There are certain similarities between Frodo and Alex, aren't there? Hopefully, Alex won't have to undergo the soul-scorching that Frodo endured. And I suspect your right about Vulcans and Elves. grin Thanks for commenting, Larner. I appreciate it very much.
