Alex has started a plan and the elves will finish it? Oh, that would leave a bad taste in my mouth but Alex should have involved them from the beginning. He had brought the elves in a dangerous situation. I´m curious what Glorfindel comes up with and who has knocked Alex out - friend or foe. Agents are no orcs but they are just as dangerous and a gun is much more worse then an arrow or a sword. Hope this will turn out well but surely the Valar are watching too? Alex really should have asked the Elves first for their opinion, but perhaps this is the best solution, after all. That signal to attack was priceless and sure to confuse the agents! grin Looks like Alex has already switched sides, even if it was more of an unconscious act than a conscious one. Not that I am surprised; it was to be expected. Hm, maybe Alex should have talked his plans over with the Elves before sending that mail. On the other hand, the Elves have been rather reluctant to do anything, so he may have to actually force their hand. Not sure yet; only time will probably tell. And they certainly need to neutralise Farrell and as many others as possible. Serindë hasn't taken it very well how Alex attacked her father, it seems. He's right, for her age she can be rather naive. After all that happened lately, it's completely understandable that he lost control, and even if I'd prefer he had not attacked anyone, it was still better he did it at Edhellond and with someone who can defend him self, not in the Academy. I hope she's not going to cause trouble, they have enough of that already. Um ... it seems Alex hasn't thought this plan through very well. Not sure how that is supposed to work, to bring them here and then convince them to leave them all be. To involve the Maiar has its appeal, though I suspect they would play along only by their own rules. snicker Maybe they should give Alex a huge picture of Farrell for archery practice. He'd outdo himself in proper aim! Derek is really a dear, and I hope Farrell isn't goint to hurt him just to lash out at Alex. And I think it's good that Alex had the counseling session he only used as a cover before; he really needs to talk this out. So, if Alex knows some of these men, then they are at least really from the Agency, I guess, not someone else just pretending to be and working for Farrell instead. There goes my idea. As for the end, I can only once again say to you what Derek said to Alex: "You are evil, you know that, don’t you?" Somehow I believe I've said the same to you a few times already. Couldn't they think of a way to make Alex seem tricked, too, without knocking him out? Author Reply: Hi Kitty. Well, the whole idea was for Alex to join with the Elves; it just wasn't clear how or when. Not that the relationship isn't going to be rocky for a while, as we can see here. Actually Amroth isn't Serindë's dad, Vorondur is, but she's obviously upset that a Mortal would attack any of the Eldar. Alex is being impulsive and probably feeling out of his depth. As he keeps telling everyone, he's never had a situation where others are calling the shots. He's always been the one doing so, and with Farrell getting in the way, as he sees it, he's feel as if he's losing control of he situation (which he is in a way). And the Elves always play by their own rules. grin Thanks for the compliment. LOL! You're not the first to call me that, nor, I suspect, you'll be the last. And thanks for commenting. Oh man, what a mess! I'm not sure that was a smart move on Alex's part to start this plan without consulting with Amroth first. It sounded pretty lame when he had to say he had no plan for every question Glorfindel asked. So, who was the bait after the elves made Alex's plan their own? I just hope Alex is okay and didn't get too bad of a concussion from that blow. I loved Glorfindel's move with the camera and the reference to Candid Camera. They have now flushed out 5? of the spies, but there are still some out there. After this they are warned. It will not be as easy to get to them. Author Reply: A real mess indeed, obsidianj. Alex has no clue as to what happens when Elves take ovet a plan devised by a Mortal. Alex is fine, but he's not going to be very happy when he finally wakes up and realizes what happened, as we'll see in the next chapter. And, yes, with only five agents accounted for there are three others still out there who are unidentified and they can cause trouble for Alex and the Elves if they are not flushed out in time. Finally some action, and even though Alex was knocked out and is probably in for a bad time, I think down deep he is happy that at least he is doing something to bring all of this to a head. The humans are definitely in the minority and underpowered here, and I'm finding I don't mind that at all :-) - Erulisse (one L) Author Reply: Hi Erulisse. Ouch! May I mention that this seems to be becoming a how-many-ways-and-times-can-we-knock-Alex-out puzzle? Author Reply: Hi Lynn. It does seem like that, doesn't it? But I assure you it's not intentional, just the way the story has written itself. grin Don't worry, I don't kill off the main characters in my stories, so Alex is still alive if alittle bruised. Vorondur, despite Serindë being your daughter, she is not a mushroom. Or shouldn't be one. Alex, you really should have consulted with Amroth before you set up this thing with Farrell's backup - the Elves would likely have had a lot of good idea for the sting. Being on the other side of the "high-handed" thing is probably good for them - and besides, Alex' instincts are telling him to move _now_, while the Elves would probably put it off. It sounds as if Farrell is rather carefully controlling what information the other agents are getting. They should have known that their target is married. It makes me wonder just what other information Farrell may have obscured. Or directly falsified. Poor Alex - out cold again! I hope his brains aren't too badly rattled! But yay for ninja Elves! :-D Silly docs, having to postpone something like what you face is not fun - but I hope they manage to get their ducks all lined up on The Day. Sending good vibes your way. Author Reply: Hi Sunny. Well, I suppose Serindë just isn't used to seeing a Mortal attack an Elf, so give her some slack. Elrohir will give her the facts of life and straighten her out. Like the other Elves, she has much to learn about dealing with Mortals. Alex, of course, should have consulted with Amroth first, but obviously he's so used to doing these sort of things on his own it never occurred to him to do so unti he'd set up the sting (sort of) And yay for ninja Elves, indeed. Ok, let me start with my usual phrase: Poor Alex! I think that we need to send the elves to Man Academy, starting with Serindë. Hopefully, Alex will recover without wanting to run all the way to the South Pole, he is taking a lot of beating, physically and emotional, lately. Love his thought of been on the side of the Angels, that it is really a very comforting thought. Thank you Author Reply: Hi Fantasia. Poor Alex, indeed! But he's tough. He's an agent. Oh, it's good to come home after ungoldy working hours for this! g I really liked the action and Alex' sudden - or not so sudden, as the truth may be - shift of alliances. His plan was a risky one, and he really should have discussed it with the Elves first. Perhaps he could have prevented getting knocked out cold. I hope it's nothing serious and that his plan works out, in the end. You're truly evil to let us hang from this particular cliff until next Friday, you know that? Author Reply: Hi Soledad.
