Elf Academy Part Deux  by Fiondil 17 Review(s)
MonalexReviewed Chapter: 29 on 4/23/2012
Helloooo!!!!!

Firstly I want to say that I really don't like Serindė, she is behaving as a 10/15 year old child/adolecent who sees everything in black and white, I mean you know there are serioues issues with an elf/elleth when said elf/elleth of 7 THOUSAND YEARS behaves so childish and immature. Also the argument that she is young may apply to those ANCIENT elves, but COME ON she lived through some very dangerous times, and she is innocent and naive???? HA!!!! What did her parents had her in a cave or a bubble where no one touched her and she could see nothing of the world???? I really can't see what Elrohir sees in her, I would be all like mmmmm you may be cute but I think we shoud wait another 10 THOUSAND YEARS for you to maybe MAYBE GROW UP!!!!!! In the meantime I will see if I can find someone more mature, and who know maybe SHE will be the one. Because really it's like Alex is forbidden to show some emotion after the shocks he's had: elves exist, he nearly dies, meets maiar and then valar, has the pressure of some psycopath to kill someone he doesn't want to, it's a wonder he is sane at all. I would like to see her face were she to meet ERU, that would be quite a shock for her even so she KNOWS HE EXIST, but it would be somewhat comparable to the shocks and pressure poor Alex has enduered.

Also I am really getting exasperated with the way the elves treat Alex, I know he may appear a child to them, but he is a rational being that knows what he is doing and should be shown the according respect. I am starting to have issues with Amroth and his exasperating way of treating Alex as a nothing compared to them MAGNIFICENT ELVES. I mean how many times did Glorfindel complain about the treatment he recived form the Valar???? He said something about them interfiring with everyones life and them thinking that ELVES don't have the intelligence ERU gave them to make decisions on their lives.

As a last point I think it the height of irresponsability on the side of the elves to have Alex in a potentially dangerous situation without being ARMED!!!! I mean he coud have died!!!! I still don't know if he died (which I hope not, since then they would have to find another mortal spy considered special by another elf agent)or was taken by the enemy or was simply knock out by his "allies", those who treat him as a child with no intelligence.

I love this story!!!! I know it may not show with my complains and dislikes, but I really like it and I anxiously await the chapters of Monday and Friday every week.

Hoping Alex is alive and that the elves learn to show some courtesy to mortals.

Author Reply: Hi Monalex. I'm not sure where to start, except I'm glad that you love the story. Complain about the characters all you want. That's what they're there for. LOL! The Elves will need a few more lessons before they get with the program as far as being courteous to Mortals is concerned. They've been going at it alone for so long they've forgotten how to play nicely with others. *grin*

As for what Elrohir sees in Serindė... well, love, as they say, is blind. LOL!

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to leave a review. It's very much appreciated.

Well, he now knows some of the other players, and knows what the plan was. And having been clipped with all the rest, his cover as an ally of the Elves isn't fully blown. Hope they took the gun so no one could learn it was really empty.

Author Reply: Some, but not all, of the players, Larner. Still, they now know more than they did before and I'm sure they took the gun just to be on the safe side.*grin*

Thanks for taking the time to read and review. I appreciate it very much.

Aaaahhhhh!!! This is looking an awful lot like Alex-as-bait! (Kinda serves him right for putting them in that position...) But I don't think he's going to like that, not one little bit - if my hunch is right, those newly found loyalties are about to be sorely tested. I think he'll eventually acknowledge that it's what needs to happen - he's got to come out of this smelling like roses so Farrell's not tipped off - but yikes! Huge risks the whole way around - scary double game to have to play, and they've all got a big learning curve on this working together thing.

Author Reply: Hi Lyana. Yeah, he is sort of like bait, isn't he? *grin* And you're right about the learning curve for all of them, as we will see in later chapters.

Thanks for leaving a review. I appreciate it very much.

Atya,

You know, it's probably a good idea if Alex would just TELL his atar indonyo what he was planning before he carried it out, instead of letting him hear it through the grapevine. I know that keeping secrets from one's adar is a BAD plan. >.> Argh. I hope whatever just went down, Amroth and the other Elves can handle it. This was a mean cliffie, Atarinya. It was. I want to know what happens next. But I'm more worried about you. :(

*hugs Atto* Are you ok? Are things going to be ok soon? Send me a personal email if you're able to, I don't want to have to worry about you, and I know I will, Atto.

Tye-melin, tenn' Ambar-metta, Atarinya.

Kaylee

Author Reply: Hi Kaylee. Yes, it would've been better if Alex had told Amroth his plans, but he didn't. And we'll see in the next chapter just what did go down and why.

Thanks for commenting. Tye-melin.

Not too sure I like the way Alex has forced the Elves hands in this, I wish he had gone to them first. He is more than a little ratteled still. I think he needs to go on a very long holiday after this, maybe somewhere quiet, with soft sauishy walls,!?

I do like the thought of Glorfi looking like one of the spies from Mad Magazine, except he has pointed ears not a pointed nose!

Ah, Elves the original Ninja Warriors!

Think I am getting a little silly here!

Having an a'mazing' time!

Thinking of you.

Huggs,
Lynda

Author Reply: Hi Lynda. Alex was a bit high-handed here and should've consulted with Amroth first, but he's young (sort of). This was a fun chapter to read with all the "spy-comes-in-from-the-cold" motifs and everything. *grin*

And you gotta love those mazes. LOL!

Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it very much.

Another wow of a chapter regarding reactions. And I am glad that Alex is getting a chance at the counselling. I love the bit about being on the side of the angels - literally. Thinking of you and, I hope you don't mind but I have friended you on LJ - I usually ask forst so if you want I will take you off again.

Author Reply: Hi harrowcat. I don't mind that you've friended me on LJ, but I haven't updated my account there in maybe 4 years and it's unlikely I ever will. I really am too busy with my life to spend it at LJ, just so you know.

I'm glad you liked the 'side of the angels - literally' part. And Alex certainly does need lots of counselling.

The surgery I was scheduled for had to be postponed until NEXT Monday for reasons I don't care to go into here, though I will say that it was not my fault but the doctors for not following through on certain things that were critical for the type of surgery I'm facing. So my readers have a slight reprive until next week and I promise it won't be quite a cliffhanger as this one is.

Anyway, thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

Cliffhangers! You are very good at them. Good chapter, but terrible place to leave us hanging. Read your closing message. Whatever you are dealing with, I pray all will go well with you. What is strange is before I opened the new chapter, I decided that part of my review would include a huge thank you for your utter reliability in posting. That thank you still stands. I have no idea how you can live a normal life and still faithfully post on schedule. Only the best for you.

Author Reply: Hi UTfrog. Well, at least for this week you'll get the usual Friday update. Certain plans were changed (stupid doctors; Lord Elrond would never be that stupid) and I have to wait another week before the procedure I was scheduled for today can be done. *sigh* But I will welcome your prayers now and next week. And I post on schedule because I write everyday, even on the weekends. Before I even go to my 40 hour/week job, I write for at least an hour in the morning. I actually have 30 chapters beyond this one written, waiting to be posted, and the story is still not done! So, there you are.

And thank you for being a faithful reviewer. I appreciate it more than words can say.
