I'm sorry, I thought that I had reviewed this revealing chapter. I am liking Derek ever more by the minute. And Glorfindel, Glorfi you may be Boss but Finrod would be ashamed of you just now. Author Reply: No problem, harrowcat. I'm glad you like Derek. He's very likable. LOL! And I suspect you are right that Finrod would be very disappointed in his gwador right now. Thanks for taking the time to review. It's much appreciated.

Oh, Glorfindel, you stubborn bastard. You really, really need a nap. And Derek's in intelligence too? Well. How convenient. ;) Can't wait for the next chapter, Whispy Author Reply: I think Glorfindel needs a lot naps, Whispy. LOL! And yes, Derek having an intelligence background is very convenient. Thanks for leaving a review. I appreciate it very much.

The plot thickens. How I love a good mystery. Author Reply: So do I, Tari. Thanks for letting me know. I appreciate it.

I think Glorfindel has had the leadership thrust upon him. I think he deserves to be in a bad mood every now and then. I also think Glor needs a love interest. I worry about all of the stress he has to deal with.. *wink* Maybe a new elleth will appear soon.. Also, I want more Valar.. I can never get enough of them.. Great chapter... Author Reply: Hi Calenlassiel. I think you may be correct and he does desever to be in a bad mood every now and then, but not at this critical time and not at Alex and Derek who want to help. A love interest for our balrog-slayer? Well, you never know; stranger things have happened. *grin* And I'll see if I can convince some more Valar to show up. Thanks for leaving a review. It's greatly appreciated.

Atto, I'm disappointed in Glorfindel's arrogance. I mean, I suppose he and the other Elves have a right to be somewhat arrogant, but his dismissal of Alex and Derek like that is surely going to backfire on him. I hope Amroth smacks some sense into him. Leader Glorfi may be, but it's going to his head. Amroth should bring down some kingly wrath on him, or something like that. :P Tye-melin, Kaylee! Author Reply: A lot of people are disappointed in Glorfindel right now, so you're not alone, Kaylee. We'll see what happens later on and how his arrogance comes back to haunt him. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it. Tye-melin.

A great chapter, I really enjoyed reading it. That was a bit high-handed of Glorfindel, to dismiss the humans like that. It'll come to haunt him later. Did Derek take it better than Alex because he's got used to taking orders in the Navy? And I almost suspected that Derek had already guessed the truth about the Elves, but it's nice to know it was a bit of a surprise to him (he isn't sent by another agency, is he?). Out of curiosity, are there really archaic nasalized stop mutations in Sindarin? *grin* Author Reply: Hi someone. Glad you liked the chapter. Yes, Glorfindel is a bit high-handed and you're right it'll come to haunt him later. I think you may be correct about Derek taking Glorfindel's orders better than Alex because of his time in the Navy. Alex is too used to doing thing alone. And no, as far as I know, Derek hasn't been sent by another agency. And there are indeed archaic nasalized stop mutations in Sindarin, which really makes the language that much more interesting (and harder) to learn. *grin* Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. I appreciate it very much.

So--what's going on at the sheriff's office? At least Derek is of the type intended to work with the Elves, I think. I've wondered at times if he was one of the three non-identified agents, but if he is I suspect he is more likely to ally himself with Alex rather than Farrell. Oh, but Farrell is definitely a baddie, and I still can't wait to find out who has been inspiring him. Some dark Maia appears about ready to surface, I suspect. Author Reply: We'll learn soon enough what's going on at the sheriff's office, Larner. And no, Derek isn't one of the three unidentified agents, but he is definitely destined to ally with the Elves. Farrell is a baddie, and as to who might be inspiring him, that remains to be seen. Thanks for taking the time to comment, Larner. I appreciate it very much.

I'm sorry. I really have to laugh at Glorfindel. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. I remember a certain elf ranting and railing against the Valar for the same behavior! Author Reply: How soon they forget, huh, Apage? LOL! Glorfindel really is messed up right now and isn't thinking straight. We'll see what happens when Alex finally has had enough of Glorfindel's (and the other Elves') arrogance. Thanks for reveiwing. It's greatly appreciated.

I am glad to hear that you are slowly getting back to a normal schedule. Do be careful! The last few chapters I have begun to wonder if this whole affair is somehow personal for our Mr. Farrell. In fact, I am wondering if he is somehow connected to the agency head who had blackmailed "Ambrose" into service...as, was the man perhaps his father, or grandfather, uncle, etc. Or, perhaps he was Farrell's own mentor-trainer, as Amroth was to Alex. I suppose Farrell does realize how long Amroth served in the Agency, and how old the man ought to look by now. I wonder just what Farrell either suspects, or has found evidence for, about both "Ambrose's" true nature, and just what happened to their one-time Agency Head?" You do know, I check my inbox eeeaaaaaarrrrly every Monday and Friday? Author Reply: Hello demeter d. Yes, I'm finally getting back to a normal or near normal schedule, but I'm not pushing it. You may be correct about Farrell having a personal grudge against Amroth/Ambrose. We'll have to see how that plays out as the story progresses. He's obviously not playing by the rules, as Alex insists, and there will, of course, be consequences because of that. Anyway, I'm sure a lot of my readers check their inbox early every Monday and Friday, so you are definitely in good company. *grin* Thanks for taking the time to read and leave a review. I very much appreciate it.

Tee-hee. "And you thought I was just another pretty face, didn’t you?" I have decided that I really, _really_ like Derek. Smart, with hidden depths, _and_ evidently damn near unflappable. It wouldn't surprise me if the Elves are more than a bit disappointed at the way Derek has taken the Big Revelation without batting an eyelid. They have probably become used to the spectacle of jaws hitting the floor when they tell people that yes, there really are such things as Elves. Perhaps they'll find some excuse to call in a Maia or two just to get a reaction out of him? ;-) I don't think Glorfindel and the other Elven warriors truly realize how high-handed they are here - it is probably the elven Superiority complex rearing its ugly head. They had better learn that if they want to forge a true partnership, they _can't_ treat their putative partners like children. Author Reply: Hi Sunny. Derek is something, isn't he? And he does have hidden depths. We've barely begun to see him as he really is. The Elves are probably feeling a little deflated from Derek's very laid-back response to the Big Revelation. And you're right that the Elves don't really realize how high handed they are acting at this point. We'll see how that attittude causes some further friction between them and Alex later on. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate if greatly.
