p.s. May I respectfully request that someone add translations of Elvish words at the bottom, or perhaps in a review, for those of us who need them? It was just another of Fiondil's thoughtful little touches, that I so appreciated. U can kind of guess at meanings, and it probably sounds like a stupid thing, but I was always so pleased when I had guessed right, or interested in learning something new when I hadn't. On the other hand, I'm so grateful that someone took the time to post a chapter today. I didn't jump out of bed at the crack of dawn to look for a chapter, as I had been in the habit of doing (not a morning person, but Mondays and Fridays always gave me something to look forward to, a reward for getting up and going). I waited until evening to take a peek, actually, and almost couldn't bring myself to read. Then, looking at the reviews, I see the community is still here, and that is something. I will bring roasted chicken, and roasted vegetables, and a good dry red wine, and an even better sweet white wine, as well as chocolate and pina coladas to the gathering at the Cliff House.

Thank you for this update. I love how the EA stories have brought Namo and the other Valar and Maiar to life in my imagination. What a duet that must have been.

My heart twisted quite a bit while reading certain lines in this chapter. Concepts in Fiondil's writing often seemed to mirror real-life situations. That seems more true today than ever. I'm glad Peterson got the drubbing at the polls that he deserved, though certainly it was going to go badly for the Elves no matter what, given the mob mentality that plays out here. Hopefully the new mayor is not going to pull his punches in getting this mess sorted out. I'm pretty sure he'd be in the right to declare martial law once he's sworn in, what with masses of people marching around with guns, but hopefully the lesson has stuck this time and there won't be any more of that nonsense. Eonwë's artistry was very "cute" indeed! The dove was a sweet touch. It was so dramatic with Daeron being shot, and with the kings being there - this is probably exactly what Glorfindel was worried about. I loved Finrod Singing. That's always magical to see. I goggled a bit at Findalaurë just lifting the statue and moving it. I'm always surprised when they demonstrate just how strong they are! Thank you very much to whoever posted the obituary. I'd been hoping to find one. It touched my heart that whoever composed it specifically included that he wrote the Elf Academy series. I will certainly look into donating to those causes listed. I've been thinking about life and adventures this weekend, and since I had a day off, I took a trip to a place I'd never been before. I know Fiondil enjoyed the mountains, and I'd never been to one, so I drove a few hours and watched the sunset from a (admittedly small) mountain in a state park. It was freezing cold and absolutely beautiful. He inspired me a lot in life and did so one more time. My thoughts remain with you all. <3 -Kevana

I am glad that Peterson did not win, but that mob mentality was freaky. Seriously, attack whether win or lose, with weapons that wouldn't work against 'demons' in the first place?! Yay for Eonwe and Namo preventing a blood bath. They should set the statue next to Edhellond's entrance or in the middle of the public square as a reminder to everyone of what almost happened. Thank you for continuing this work, and I'll be at the wake in thought.

Well, in the immortal words of Samwise, "That was an eye opener, and no mistake!" What a chapter... I was really hoping for some demonstration of repentance from at least a few of those who had come with foul intent, but they seem to be quite hardened. To me, that's the saddest thing. The Valar and Elves have been quite in the open, and the multiple demonstrations of virtue and power in this short time... Truly, there are none so blind as those who will not see. I love the idea of a Cliff House wake for Fiondil - I'm on my way with chili and buns. The shock/disbelief is giving way to sadness; I'm already feeling a bit down about no Monday morning chapter; didn't realize how much I looked forward to those postings until they are no more. It was truly a day-brightener for so long. Selfish, I know, but there you are. And thanks ever so much to whomever was kind enough to post this chapter today!

The election went the way the elves would like, but that doesn't mean everything is well. A mob like this is dangerous no matter what their original motive is. They are not susceptible to any kind of logic or common sense. Even hard facts would not sway them. They made up their minds and that's that. They say they go against demons and then bring guns? They should know as the "bible readers" they pretend to be that guns will not work. I have the feeling someone else is goading them on. Melting the weapons into a figure of Eonwe is "cute", at least it is more decorative than a heap of molten metal. I will join you at the cliff house for a wake for Fiondil and will bring some wine and cake.

After this election, life in Wiseman will never be again what it used to be, even with the Elves having been present for over two years. Battle lines have been drawn in more than just one level - I'm not sure I'd like to live in a place like this, not anymore. But again, I'm getting old and increasingly fond of my peace and quiet. Off to the Cliff House with freshly baked apple pie to celebrate the life and legacy of the one who has brought us so much joy and delight with his writings. And a big Thank you! to those who continue with said legacy in his absence.

Delightful! I imagine Fiondil is even now complimenting Lord Namo on the comforts of his own accommodations. Love the statue--not a plowshare as much as an archangel's prayer in tangible form.

*stomps into the Cliff House, burdened with a full backpack and a couple of shopping bags filled to overflowing with bottles of whiskey, wine, soft drinks, snacks, cookies, candies and other eatibles and drinkables, puts the bottles on a side board and starts to fill up available platters with munchies and boxes of kleenex* I've been crying off and on since I got the news, and I'm sure a lot of the rest of you are in the same state. I also think that Fiondil is one person who deserves a proper wake, where we all can drown our sorrows (or just bawl them out) while we all celebrate the life and creativity of our beloved Fiondil. *fills glass with whiskey and raises it in a toast* I also think Eönwë has gotten much better at melting down weapons. Previously, he had only melted them into a lump of slab, but this thime he has created art! (What's the chance of getting a copy for the Cliff House, I wonder?
