An interesting puzzle. I think Alex and Amroth may be able to figure out how to get in and out of the park without being seen. They both have the training to do something like this. If it will work is another question. What type of tree is growing in the cliff face that is over a thousand years old? Or was this tree also part of the strange time shift that happened to plant the bridge and the stairs? I'm missing Fiondil who could probably answer these questions.

note to MikoNoNyte and all tracking glorfindel's time discontinuity problems. while not mentioned often, they are noted as early as elf interrupted book one. will be interesting to see how they play out here and if the problem has gotten worse since his mugging.

my first review. how to begin? took a long time to come to elf academy. onci i realized it was the logical progression, i was hooked. fiomdil has created something here in ea 4 that has an amazing rhythm. om the one hand it is very quick but on the other hand, it is nicely but tantalizingly slow. bringing a picnic basket of salads and finger food to the cliff house to introduce myself.

And a lesson in how people change their environment over the centuries, and make trouble for Elves. ;-) I look forward to their adventure in retrieving the artifact, and I find myself very curious about it!

Obviously Irmo and Orome are working together on this. Now, to figure out how to get into the park when it is still closed. The tarped sections of the fence may be helpful.

This chapter was full of descriptions. I felt like I was reading a travel log, and I've read my share dating back into the 1700's. Not my favorite thing to read by now. But onward with the plot and our intrepid heroes trecking into the wilds and listening to Gareth's tale of the White Hart. Um... Does anyone else feel like we're stepping in to Caerleon-on-Usk and the beginning of an Arthurian episode? Or perhaps The Mabinogi? I'm just hoping when this is all done that our Gwyn is not taking the road of Gwyn ap Nudd and housing all the devils of Annwfn in his breast! The weaving of Fiondil's tapestry here is beautiful; he touches on so many things I dearly wish I could sit down to tea with him and discuss Olde Tales. :) *Refills the goodie bin with freshly bakes whole grain 'nana bread and tins of tea leaves* Ja ne!

Thank you very, very much for all your hard work on this. I was, I'll admit it now, devastated to read that Fiondil had died. My reason is quite simple. On the 1st July 2014, I discovered a large lump in my left breast. Yes, it was an aggressive breast cancer. For the next nine months my life was a maelstrom of scans, chemotherapy, operations, and radiotherapy. One of the things that saved my sanity was reading Elf Academy. I would read another chapter and actually come away laughing, and this was at a very dark time in my life, so thanks, partly to Arthur, I'm still alive and kicking. I've lost some things, such as my ability to write, but I can live with that. It might be like my hair, gone for a time but will return. It's just taking more time than I would like. BTW: Please do not sympathise with me over the cancer. A very large group of friends on another board spent several months cursing the cancer and ordering it to leave my body. Please do the same for someone you know, who has cancer. Believe me, it works. And recommend that they read 'Elf Academy'.

Hm, shades of Moon Runes and Durin's Day here. And Glorfindel's times sense is still way off, I am starting to get a little concerned. Grabs some snacks and goes back to knitting. Lynda

Well, that's an eye-opener and no mistake. So Orome led the ap Hywel brothers to High Falls Gorge, did he? To hide a Templar talisman...ah, and so their time as Templars mentioned in the Prologue begins to make its relevance known. I do wonder what, precisely, that talisman was...Hmm. These pictures Atya painted for us were so vivid in my mind. Or as vivid as such things can be. Every time Lake Placid is mentioned, though, I can't help but shiver and think that things will go spectacularly wrong there. If there's a Balrog sleeping in Wild Lake, who's to say there's not another in Lake Placid...*shudder* Or that the two aren't connected somehow. Thank you, our dear Beta Amigas, for posting this story, and giving us this new chapter. All the mention of trout fishing made a certain seagull hungry. :D *Donut peeks over Kaylee's shoulder, then goes after a trout, meaning to catch it and bring it to MikoNoNyte* Mine! *giggles* Well then. Anyway. I'm wondering whether next week will bring an interlude sometime in August, or whether we'll be heading right for full moon and talisman retrieval. With love to Atto and to you, Beta Amiga nettenyar, Kaylee
