| I like the relationship you show between Legolas and Thranduil. Legolas is respectful but stands up for what he believes is right. I was struck by the line that said that war had changed them both. I wonder if Legolas had become less tolerant of narrow concerns now that he's faced catastophe and seen Arda barely survive it. Poor Gimli. He must feel like a fish out of water! Author Reply: Thranduil may indeed find Legolas more cosmopolitan than he would like, but I imagine he can get used to it now that there is no immediate threat at home. Poor Gimli is along for the ride now! | |

| LOL! Oh, nice! But poor Gimli! They'll be braiding ribbons into his beard next. And I know Thranduil's problem - I have a terrible time resisting when my girls do that pleading look on me. I enjoyed the change of pace of this chapter and the lightheartedness. Clearly Legolas is relaxing now he's at home - it's nice to see him so happy. Author Reply: Enjoy it while it lasts; he's still rather frazzled, though he is trying to relax. Trying to find a few quiet moments before they keep him up all night. ;) With this subtle elvish makeover they're giving Gimli, I'm beginning to dread how it will be reciprocated in Erebor. :D | |
