Spring Awakenings  by daw the minstrel 36 Review(s)

Phew *lets out relieved breath* Well, in case you wonder why I'm relieved, you know, I fully expected Sólith to kill Eilian with his bare hands! Really. Phew! *wipes sweat off forehead* Isiwen was fun to read! If Celuwen has inheritated a bit of her mother's character Eilian will have a lot of "fun" with his wife *eg* Hehe, poor Eilian! *lol* I like to way you prtray women or rather she-elves in your stories. They are strong, proud women, not some weak always-on-the-edge-of-tears maiden. I really like that! :)

Now that Eilian and Celuwen have arrived at the palace I feel like the two are indeed bearding the lion in his den! *gulps* Oh, Thranduil will be fuming! My oh my! :/ I only can think of one way they can stopp Thranduil in his wrath: Celuwen crying right in front of him! He's just seems to be the kind of guy who cannot bear to see a woman cry. He'd feel quite bad for making her cry and his anger will fade into guilt *lol* :). Too easy? Mhm, I can't wait to find out what you have in store for all of them.

~Any

P.S.: In your response to my last review you wrote that you think my inner fangirl is showing. Mhm, now, what's that supposed to mean? Should I feel insulted now? ;)

Author Reply: I think that Celuwen is perfectly capable of handling Eilian once she gets over the disorientation she's feeling about uprooting her whole life. This is much harder for her than for Eilian, although his father is going to be harder to deal with than hers, unpleasant as Solith could be. Thranduil is not only a fairly strict father, he's also the king and that complicates his reactions to everything.

My inner fangirl sympathizes with yours. She is the reason I spend my spare time writing this stuff!

hello!
aw...how cute, fluffy, and sensual all at the same time.
It reminded me of my father when Solith told Eilian to smile too...good job with that.
I loved how you described how Solith was so angry and how he handled it.
I also adored Isiwen's outburst...it reminded me of my mother when she gets too frustrated.
well...that was very well done, and very well waited for.
How come every time you write the chapters with Eilian and Celuwen...i'm always on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens next?
ha...thank you for writing.

bye!

Author Reply: Celuwen's parents love her and want her to be happy. Unfortunately, Solith also hates Eilian so she's kind of caught in the middle. And Isiwen rose to the occasion, bless her.

I'm glad you like these Eilian/Celuwen chapters. They're fun to do.

What a sweet chapter! I think the father of the new wife must always pull aside the new husband to give him a "pep" talk about taking care of his little girl. I know that my dad did that, and I married the kindest, sweetest man in the world. Dads and their daughters, sigh.

However, I fully expect Thranduil to kill Eilian the next morning. Hopefully, he will not do so in Celuwen's presence. Those poor newlyweds are going to have a hard time at first.

Legolas is going to return to quite a tempest, and doesn't have a clue what he's heading towards! He'll probably be very happy to return to the Southern Patrol-and as quickly as possible.

Author Reply: Solith is most unhappy with what's happened, and in this chapter, I wanted his love of his daughter to be evident because normally, he's so pigheaded that you can't see it. Thranduil is another kettle of fish. There will be no females there to shelter Eilian when his father realizes what's been going on.

I've been wondering how Legolas will react to what's happening. He'll be so shocked!

Ah, so reassuring to see that Celuwen has no morning-after regrets.
It is good to see them both happy for a change. Solith was not
quite as homicidal as I'd feared, but with the two ladies of his
life present, I gather he didn't dare express himself quite honestly.
Nicely edgy chapter, with a happy ending :)

However, the phrase out of the frying pan and into the fire comes to
mind....

Author Reply: Celuwen is a cautious Elf, and she made her choice deliberately. So she has no regrets. That's not to say that she is happy in all ways (even Eilian's room is not so welcoming), but she loves him and could not have done otherwise.

Would the fire be named Thranduil?

He'd better enjoy his night, because come morning, he'll be in real hot water.

Great chapter. If only Solith and Eilian could communicate with respect rather than loathing. If only...

Anyway, lovely job. I eagerly await more! Lily

Author Reply: Thranduil will be waiting at the breakfast table and we'll see what happens then. Solith is very unhappy right now. I'm not sure he'll ever get over it, but we'll have to see.

Awwwww! How cute! I was a little startled at the sudden bonding, but am rather pleased...... :-D A happy Eilian and Celuwen.... But how does Legolas fare I wonder;-) I trust, as much as I like the now happy couple, that we will soon find out what is happening to our youngest prince..:-D

Oh quick question.... Did Legolas well you know with that girl? And if what you said in the beginning is true, if Legolas and that 'female';-p you know wouldn't they be considered married as well? Or would that not be considered...????? Hmmmmmm? :-D:-P:-)

Author Reply: In the next chapter, I have to get Legolas down off that flet. I left him in the middle of the day on which Eilian and Celuwen returned to the palace. So he's next.

Legolas is far better behaved than Eilian, plus he barely knows this girl whereas Eilian has been courting Celuwen for a couple of hundred years. So NO!
